Is the new Twin Peaks series good enough?

I´m done, but that last one was a bit urgent, good to know you´re fine!

I remember them holding back the announcement on how many episodes it would be, so it was all shot in one go without any breaks in between(which may have been for the best as we know now, a few of the actors have died in the meantime). I even seem to remember they said somewhere that there is literally (well not literally since it´s digital) a ton of outtakes.

Yes and no, it´s complicated(and people are very on the age about it, as you may now). But for the sake of season 3 there are more connections than most would have expected.

Yeah, sorry, only saw that one afterwards - nice of you to check

I’d love to see those if they crop up in the future. And any bloopers (which, for Twin Peaks, probably wouldn’t be particularly discernible from the actual episodes).

I’m starting to wish I’d watched the original seasons, and FWWM, before the new one aired. I did that with The X-Files and it was quite beneficial. I think I might wait a month, and then watch them all in a row.

Goodbye man, gonna miss seeing you in everything! :frowning:

Oh no :frowning: bye dude.

Ok, so thanks to a) this topic and b) Thimbleweed Park, I’ve decided to correct a grevious error of my younger self, and finally watch Twin Peaks. I am at the final episode of Season 1 now. I absolutely love it so far. I can see so many Thimbleweed Park influences, all over the show, not the least of which is this blinking red lamp, from S1 Episode 4:

So Kyle McLachlan got his well deserved Emmy nomination. Unfortunatly it´s also the only nomination for the show and his competion is brutal. But at least his performance got recognised it´s what made the season so great.

Well, his performance was awesome… The scene where he goes around between the casino machines shouting “hell-o-o-o-o-o-o” alone was hilarious.

Well done Kyle

Who we talking?

Oooops, I meant Golden Globes not Emmys!

Robert DeNiro, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor and Geoffrey Rush! It´s in the Mini Series category hence those Hollywood A-Listers you usually wouldn´t find in Television productions.

Hm. I like to think he could win over some of those, but don’t fancy his chances against DeNiro…

I think Young Pope with Jude Law was quite popular and Rush is really good at winning prices. I just realized too that MacLachlan and DeNiro are the only americans in that selection…

Just looked through the list. I’m surprised Twin Peaks didn’t get a nomination for best limited series.

Glad that the Handmaid’s Tale is up for quite a few though.

I heard Twin Peaks is not eligible for certain awards because they divided it into “parts” instead of episodes. This could be BS though…

Glad to see a lot of best actress awards are my favorites, and Fargo is nominated too.

Ah, that would make sense I guess.

I must get round to watching the rest of Fargo (especially now I know Ewan McGregor and David Thewlis are in it). I think one of my New Year’s Resolutions will be to finish things.

And it fits the Christmas mood. At least partly. David Thewlis is absolutely awesome but has a horrific mouth double with very special teeth.

Intriguing… Once I’ve finished the third series of Inside Number 9 I think I’ll go back to Fargo.

Can’t wait for the next season of it. Still didn’t find a possibility to get the 3 new League of Gentlemen specials. Btw, Netflix announced, that form December 29th Black Mirror season 4 will be online. Though probably not in UK, as Channel 4 has the first distribution rights.

Apparently it’s on Netflix in the UK around the same time :slightly_smiling_face:
