Seguso's Adventure Game Thread

Ok now I’m going to do all locations from this point of view , until you beg to stop

Me? Never! :yum:

Nice. Now I’m only a bit concerned about the possible structural inconsistency of all those spaces!

I thought it was smaller.

I can hear Dracula shouting “DIGGING” from here.

In Italian, with your voice.

  1. you won’t see new art for a few days, because I am importing all the assets in the game (and doing retouches as I go, if they are quick enough). It’s nice to be able to play with graphics. It works well, no bad suprises:

Then, after importing all the art, I’m finalizing the dialogs for part1, so part 1 will be fully playable and testable.

  1. I’ve decided I’ll make a text-only version of the game (without the backgrounds but only the portraits during dialogs) and submit it to the ifcomp 2020.

I finalized this location… it took a day. :disappointed_relieved:

And now I present to you the trollops:

(But I think I’ll change the face of the one in the middle… not funny as the other two…)

I’ve reverted to this beach because the other one was too tropical… maybe I’ll recycle the other one somewhere…

Good, now change the shape of the mountain to reflect this.

wh–what the heck is that?

Just something I’ve seen almost every day for 25 years :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s called “the Devil’s Saddle” la Sella del Diavolo in Italian, the hill that borders Cagliari’s gulf.

oh. Nice, nice :relieved:

No, Cagliari. It’s in Italy, not France.

:joy: :joy:

BTW, this is exactly the kind of music I would have in my game if my game had music

trying to find a uniform style for the portraits…

this is the 11-th attempt to characterize “the mom”, following the above style:

I’m not convinced… too attractive and not comical enough. The in-room portrait nails the character better, is more comical. But it is too low-res: (or maybe it isn’t?)

They are too different, and there will be problems when switching from room to dialog.

How to make them more similar? I could also change the in-room portrait like this:

but this way I would be dropping the better one…

I tried to do the converse: make the portrait more comical:

… but now she looks evil  .

I think it’s funnier if the mom looks kind, not sadistic.

So I’m uncertain what portrait to use for the mom. Maybe I should drop this model completely and use the first one? i.e. this one?

Hmm, I did demos that are kind of in this style, just faster because I was thinking more of a arcade game. You can have them if you want.

Wow, thanks man  The second one is too electronic, but I might find a place for the first one

I think the priest is final…
