Actually most modern Hollywood movies have a twist, just not as radical as mr Shyamalan is doing. The most common example - about 3/4 in the movie it turns out the friend of the good guy is actually working against him. It’s one of those horrible “rules” screenwriters nowadays learn.

I don’t think “Dinky” is a euphemism for anything. It just means “small”.
