Which movies would make a great adventure game?

Yes, that’s true. This is why Indy 3 differs pretty much from the movie. The story may be very similar, but after all there are less action sequences and more puzzles in the game.

I haven’t read the book, but I’m not sure if this setting would be enough for an adventure game. To me it sounds more like a part of an adventure game (like the factory part in TWP).

But your description reminds me of this LucasFilm Game:

In Night Shift you have to work in a giant machine. You can play it in Archive.org.

Which skills would you need? Have you tried an adventure game maker tool?

But maybe other people? I’m confident that there are artists out there who love that book too!

Mmmh alright I’ll have to investigate that

Pillows, of course.

The Dial of Destiny, seriously!?

Still, so long after Last Crusade, I’ll sure be watching a new Indy flick. And I’d play the P&C adventure, too .

And somewhat less long after Kingdom of the Plastic Skull.

It might have happened (Noah Falstein Interview focussing on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (LucasArts) - 1/2019 - YouTube):
"Ron and David and I had a brief discussion about whether, when Ron was working on Thimbleweed Park, whether we might talk to Spielberg about doing a retro game version of the next Indiana Jones film that’s in the works now. And, you know, given that Steven loved those games, I suppose that’s possible.

But, you know, it occurred to us that the budget for a Thimbleweed Park style game would be a small part of the marketing budget for a movie like the next Indiana Jones movie. So, we still have had some discussions that might be fun thing to do.

But, I think Ron is a little burned out on doing retro games right now. So, we’d have to persuade him if we wanted to have him involved on that. And it would be great to have the three of us back together on that project."

I scrolled way back to see if I’d already posted about Repo Man so that I didn’t repeat myself if I had. And I did. Very upset to see zero likes on that bad boy. Come on!

If it’s any consolation, you prompted me watch Repo Man for the first time. Somehow I had always kinda figured I’d seen it, maybe conflating it with Demolition Man and Men at Work, two masterpieces.

Anyway, awesome movie. The ending was perfection. It would make a great adventure game to be sure. The repo angle is perfect to drive the story, the underlying sci-fi premise would be great, and the car chase scenes would do well as Full Throttle-style cutscenes.

And, the Bethesda game isn’t going to be finished by the time the movie hits the theatre by end of June, so they’d better find a couple of guys who can whip up a game in seven months time!
