Zak McKracken collector's Edition! šŸ˜Ž

I wonder what versions will be included, I guess the same as those on GOG?
(Not that it matters, I’m sure we already ā€œownā€ all the versions ever in existence, via one way or another :-)

Let us cross our fingers they won’t use the scan on GOG to print the National Inquisitor :crossed_fingers:

To be honest: I won’t buy it. Like the boxes for the other old Lucasfilm games (Loom, Maniac Mansion, …) this feels like a reprint from a company that would like to make money with it. And it won’t fit into my childhood memories where the Zak box was a smaller one and contained a 5,25 inch floppy disk.

But I would love to complete my collection of the original boxes. (The prices seem to be similar  )

Come on… don’t you wish that stale bread USB pen? :baguette_bread:

I have to admit: Yes, I don’t want it. Zak is from 1988 and an USB flash drive won’t fit into my head. Where are the DAT and the cash card? They would have made more sense. (And the bread looks ā€œcheapā€ IMHO.)

You have a point. :+1:

It’s not supposed to look like a valuable, tasty, soft bread…

Adding cash cards would be a great idea though!

But it’s supposed to look like a bread (and not a brown cigar with yellow stripes).

What? No crystals??

It does look rather pixelated in the picture to be honest.

Well, it says it is not shown as 1:1 scale, so perhaps it is an actual loaf of French bread-sized USB stick.

Now I’m curious about the box size…

ā€œLet me quickly attach your laptop to my actual-bread-sized-USB-stick to copy some filesā€¦ā€

Well, if they use a larger box, they could add more stuff in it like plush two-headed squirrels, crystals, cowboy hats with holes, a fishbowl, a broom with eyes and a roll of duct tape.

And an actual winning lottery ticket to cover for the costs.

I had one, which I put in my personal Zak McKracken box.

And bought! It’s Zak McKracken, that’s all I need to know, because I’m a fanboy!
If we can’t clobber someone with that bread USB drive I’ll just have to visit my trusted bakery nearby to get help.

Unrelated, but ā€œStellar Messā€ is a Zak McKracken clone you should all play

I tried the demo and some of the puzzles didn’t convince me, plus the dialog was a little long. Maybe I should give the complete game a chance.

I didn’t like the demo either, but as soon as you get out of the shop it’s amazing!
