It seems he had to lie to protect the secret! We forgive you Ron
Imagine you had been hired. Imagine you trying to convince Ron Gilbert that some puzzle should be changed in some way, and he refuses to listen.
Not very nice, right? Now you’re happy that you haven’t worked on it. You can thank me later.
I imagine you or @Guga had been hired. I imagine you trying to gliss my questions on what you are working on. No details. And then suddenly, you telling “Oh, it’s the MI3a. Nothing more, nothing less”.

Ahahahahaha. I would have loved the opportunity myself to write a puzzle - but this isn’t a fan game it’s a big-boy game.
Well, even they “put their pants on one leg at a time”.
Hey, I’m a legit developer you may have mistaken me for someone else.
Anyway, I was right
Actually I am pretty sad @RonGilbert did not give me credits to be the one who knew that first!
wrrrr
Saw this being shared around recently, not sure where it’s from or who made it, but I’d love to play it -
@Paul But that’s amazing!
This is amazing. Whatever it is, it took a lot of effort, starting with the visuals.
I suspect whoever made it… is Italian.
His name is Signor Ronaldo Gilberto
I’ve followed a few breadcrumbs and it might be this one:

I’m not sure, though.

Art seems to be pretty different, unless it got updated sometime during production…
Yes, it’s very different, but on their website they say that they changed their graphic designer in 2010.
Why do I keep getting sucked down these bottomless rabbit holes? I have things to do.
I am in the same rabbit hole, haha, I even tried to load some old fan demo from 15 years ago, but my computer refused
Looking at it more, I feel like it was made pretty recently, as the fonts used for the verbs are more in the style of TWP, rather than an older style, and also from the general level of detail.
Edit: and we can see the art through the verbs, which I think was introduced in TWP
I also have the impression that this game can only be the result of a quite “mature” approach to adventure game development. Not mainly because of the fonts used or the user interface (which could have easily been chosen after the release of TWP or the Delores engine) but because of the level of attention and details it has.
It’s interesting to note that the texts in the backgrounds are (intentionally, I suppose) unintelligible, which is also a choice made by the developers of RTMI.
I wonder how many first-class backgrounds and visuals are locked up in fan productions that may never see the light of day.
These are MI2-level visuals. The first thing they reminded me of was a pixelated version of an RTMI background that a fan created and posted on Reddit before the game’s release.
