Poll: Would Zak McKracken be better if it had "look" and "talk"?

BRILLANT! :joy:

Just a lot of dedication and sweating, my friend.

I hacked the game. The issue is that in order to test it, I could not just reload a game but had to start over again. Each time…whenever I thought of a better joke etc. It took me 4 hours or so to get this done

I didn’t see any pigeons but there were a lot of very agile and computer-illiterate bystanders.

It’s a lot since the last time I went in Venice, don’t know if there are pigeons anymore

“…and that, my son, is how Zak came to be my favorite game of all times.”

Hey Daddy, you didn´t actually tell a story, you just said “let me tell you a story, son” then stared in front of you in silence for a minute before saying that last sentence you just said! :child:

HAHAHA that’s great  (I finally got round to watching this)

I would’ve been much more bribable with the cashcard. I’m all about the money, me.

What is that from, by the way? I’m sure it’s familiar but I can’t think! I don’t remember it being in The Simpsons…

I just made that up. But I wouldn´t entirely rule out that it was said on Scrubs in one form or another, with the way they played around with that daydream trope a lot.

It also sounded like something I have seen before on a TV show…

anyway slightly related to watching moving images… did you see my Ultimate Reply yet?
(end shameless plug)

I did.
Good job, well done!

OK, that’s one of the non-nicer ones

I wondered if the game would still be completable (by “guessing” the drawing puzzles)…
As it turns out you can actually leave the face hall with Zak even when the door is closed. But you cannot get into it from the labyrinth :frowning:

And let’s don’t forget: running out of non-boiling blood!

When I play the game and want to send the girls back to earth before finishing the game I let them buy two tokens each and Zak one before they board the train. Then they can get back and fly to earth after Zak beamed himself to egypt but before he and Annie pulled the levers in the pyramid.

Doing that is completly optional of course.

As for the dead end. It is only a real dead end if you send all three of them to the Pyrmid with only one token each in their pockets. If at least one of them has more than one they can go back to the non broken monolith and buy enough for everyone to go back.

When exploring I don´t think you do that so if you send one of them to the broken monolith and find that out there, the other person can buy three tokens, ride left and both can get back then.

What do you mean? There are people out there not doing this? It’s like playing TWP and ignoring all other endings! :exploding_head:

Yes, we are talking about sending both to the other side without additional tokens.
It’s a dead end if you haven’t opened the doors in the face hall because Zak will be screwed.
(Also note that you have to “foresee”/guess the drawing puzzles.)

No. Because the train is on the other side.

Oh, I didn’t remember that! So Zak is screwed even if he could get out of the face.

Oh yeah, it doesn´t get back on it´s own. I´m not sure if the game tells you in anway that you don´t have to bother about that part until very late in the game. You really have to focus on the face and the youth hostel first before you do anything else.

Not really, as usual. It’s up to you to figure out there isn’t much to do there yet and reload an older game. Although after getting there it’s very apparent that the Monolith is broken, you better have made a save game recently

Well you could even remove all the dust with the broom alien already but you won´t get to open the door before Zak arrives.

What do you mean?

Btw. let’s put this on the list of “fixes to make Zak more realistic”:

  • Add a call button on the Monolith, alternatively allow to walk the distance which takes approximately four Mars hours in real time.

What do you mean what do I mean?

Those should be longer than Earth hours since Mars is farther away from the sun, right?
