I’m setting this up now as an incentive for me to start playing it and so we’ve got an area to chat about the playthrough and hints as needed.
@Someone , @tasse-tee and whoever else wants to play at the same time, feel free to join in.
It might get tricky if and when we are at different stages of the game (I’ll no doubt lag behind, and I think @Someone has the benefit of playing it before). So we might just need to be mindful of tagging spoilers .
I’ll probably start on Sunday

Yes, I’ve played it as a kid several times, but I can’t remember all of the puzzles at the moment. So maybe I have to ask for help too.

Ok, I’m in!
Don’t worry, I might be a bit slow as well. I’ll start on Sunday or Monday.

For all of you who would like to play Zak, here is (again) the link to the newspaper that was part of the box. You should read the newspaper before starting to play the game.

@Someone Is that higher res than the one from GOG?
Edit: btw @Someone I just noticed that just like for Maniac Mansion, the Zak hintbook on GOG is worthless.
Yes.
Yes, indeed. But that’s why we have this thread.

In fact the one on GOG is nearly unreadable!

Yeah, it’s pretty blurry.
Actually I might even start it tonight if I get a chance… I’m quite excited!

You could print out the newspaper and read it tomorrow morning during your breakfast.

The “original” newspaper was printed on real newspaper paper and had the size of a newspaper (ok, ok, a small newspaper )

I also repost this link again which shows the graphics of the different versions:

“Hey Zak, Zak in Zak is stuck because…”
(forum user, game character, game name)
This could get confusing. Maybe our hint line needs a new name in this thread…
Frenzie:
Phoenix McKracken

Now we need a musician to write melody for that song.

Ooh, too bad I’m at work now.
I’m hearing a cheesy jingle with a choir.
