Yes.

Leonard(o) of Bristol is fine.

That sounds like “wasn’t Leonardo that guy from The Big Bang Theory?”

Thanks, so I’ll consider this :slightly_smiling_face: if I don’t find a funnier city name… maybe more ancient sounding …

You wouldn’t recommend it then? To actually call him “Leonardo Of Somewhere”?

possible variations: Leonardo Of Something , Leonardo Of Someplace, Leonardo Of Thatplace

I’d make it a touch less in your face, like “Leonardo of Thule” or perhaps more obviously “Leonardo of Yon” or “Leonardo of Yonder” if you really want to be obvious about it.

Unless the Donald Duck-type “Leonardo of Farawayistan” is what you’re going for. Then “Leonardo of Someplace” is fine. :stuck_out_tongue:

I really want to be obvious and Donaldduckesque, so I think I’ll pick “Leonardo of Someplace”… since you said it’s the better sounding of the last three… Thanks!

But Farawayistan is really interesting too… I might use it for the home country of Mike Stallone

That’s from (Dutch) Donald Duck btw: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verweggistan

There’s also Afgelegerije (afgelegen = remote + ije like in Algeria). Something like Distantia in English I suppose, but then you don’t have the echo of a real place like Algeria.

I think Thule is still quite obvious though. It’s just the slightly more subtle version of Farawayistan.

I was thinking about Finnish places, and Leonardo of Nokia sounded funny for me.
(Nokia is the birthplace of world renowned wellies and tires. Some also know it for mobile phones and networks)

It is funny!!! Sounds great. Nice contrast between the Italian name and the rest.

But it might feel out of place… because you think of the mobile phone… and this is a fantasy-renaissance environment.

is there some medieval town that sounds very lame? and well known to English speakers?

Well then, you have only one option: Rothenburg (ob der Tauber).

Wow!!! I think I might even put it in one word…

Leonardo Of Rothenburgobdertauber!

Guys, I think I might be going insane… Now I have this urge to name him “Uwuwuewuewué ugbemugbem O’Connor”…

Can’t you put in a dozen names and let the system choose one randomly every new game you start?

Or let the people choose it at the beginning of the game, like a fake anti-piracy protection? (How is this pirate called: choose one).

Like in a JRPG.

that’s an interesting suggestion
but this pirate character is somewhat memorable, so I want him to have a definite name, so it can be addressed in discussion and so on…

In that case, “Uwuwuewuewué ugbemugbem O’Connor” is probably not the perfect choice either. Unless he’s like: “I’m Uwuwuewuewué ugbemugbem O’Connor, the infamous pirate. My friends call me Uwe”.

You have a point

But what about “Uvu vuè vuè vuè O’Connor”? After all I could use a name that supports the backstory (that he became evil out of hatred towards his parents, because they gave him that name.). (But I can also drop this backstory)

Anyway, he became the ultimate villain. In the game, he kidnaps a mermaid and (not believing she is a mermaid but believing she’s just a fat girl) he starts telling her she’s just a morbidly obese girl. In the end, the mermaid starts believing him and becomes complex-ridden. So that’s the ultimate villain in this game…

Merry Christmas guys! Here’s a new location!

I skipped a week because I finalized the gameplay and made changes to the UI (:scream:). I can now make a full walkthrough, and all the puzzles are rendered in a satisfactory way. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m switching to full cartoon style for the adult character faces. Realistic faces are just too hard to get right…
In this picture, we see Olivia’s dad and Monsieur Heracles Perrot:
