If she wants to learn computer programming, I can teach her myself, since I’m a programmer too. I have even made games at some point in several languages, from basic to C++. I started learning to program when I was a bit younger than her.
But I think there’s no harm if she doesn’t want to program. I mean, there are tools for that, there’s open-source engines, there’s ways to get around it, including working with other people. Furthermore, maybe she will discover she likes only a bunch of aspects of developing, like game design, character design, environment design, storytelling, or making music. Right now she’s learning to use RPG Maker.
