The 2019 what we are playing thread

Yes, they can. (They are comparable with the harder Infocom adventures.)

working on your own game?! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Like Ron has said and it was argued over before: “you can’t bull shit children with fancy graphics”

You meant: “all work and no play makes we’ll get your game sooner one day!”
It rhymes, so must be true

Eh, there’s that Ion Fury thing. Admittedly I kind of feel like I got my retro Build engine kick after episode 1 but I will continue sometime. :stuck_out_tongue:

it’s not an adventure. blasphemy!

Don’t remember what everyone here has played or not, but … Memoria?

FoxTail then? I enjoyed it, even if it was a little fetch-questy.

Is it good? I have it on Steam, but when I see graphics so good I assume the game sucks

Isn’t it early access? (which for me means “incomplete”). I didn’t try it for that reason…

Haven’t you played Kathy Rain? What about Whispers of a Machine from the same developer?
After playing The Castle this must feel like UHD.

Puzzle quality wise, you are better off playing the predecessor (Chains of Satinav). That has one particular chapter which I think is pure genius. Memoria has less difficult puzzles overall, but they are nicely integrated into the plot. And it has a kind of meta-puzzle going on, too. I really love it for its story, however, and the ending.

Still not finished, unfortunately. I’m waiting for that one as well.

Or Technobabylon?

Sure, but those two chapters are good for a few hours and it’s one of the prettier games out there.

Two games that I played lately which I found to have incredibly good writing: “clam man” and “Bertram fiddle”.
They are very different from each other: Bertram is concise… each line of text is there for a reason. No dialog choices, each character has one joke and that’s it. The other is very text heavy, which usually is a recipe for disaster. But the writer is so talented that he makes it work.

Congrats! Try to finish The Castle with all the endings!

Started (yesterday) and finished (today): Inside !
Talk about a game that’s hard to put down.
If you haven’t yet… get it!! It’s for free for another 2 days!
It can be quite graphically disturbing from time to time- but the deaths aren’t that gruesome and frequent as in Limbo. Well most aren’t.
Overall I think it is way more balanced - less tedious puzzles and more cinematic thriller moments than Limbo has. And the “story” is better too or at least feels like it is building up to the climax more than the more random scenes in Limbo. It is equally weird though. I’d rate it a solid 9/10!

For a moment, I thought you were talking about The Castle … :scream::scream:
Because it’s quite difficult, I don’t think it’s possibile to finish it in only one day, without knowing what to do!

Anyway… which Gibbous is free? On Steam it costs €19.99.

I don’t know about Gibbous, but Inside and Celeste are free on that Epic Fail Store.

I should change that into: “I already finished Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, months before it is released on the Nintendo Switch”
(See the internet for all kinds of announcements: seems jedi academy is also being reissued and both are also set for release on PS4 and other new systems.)
