The german passport in the game is red, but in 1987 the german Reisepass was dark green. The red passport was established in 1988.
The person who released the passport was colour blind.

That’s not a mistake… it’s actually an incredibly cleverly placed clue that if you unravel it will open up several more layers of meaning and complexity to the game.
