Around 10 years ago, me and one guy from Sweden have been working on a Day of the Tentacle fangame called A Tentacle Hero; it would have featured the characters teleporting to different locations of the world (England, Egypt, Amazon) in Phony-Porters which look like phone booths (just like the original DOTT featured time travel in Chron-O-Johns which look like toilets). Unfortunately the project tanked, but I put up its materials on Internet Archive so they wouldn’t be lost (there are some screenshots and the full game script/storyline), and made a page about the game on adventure game wiki Abandonsocios.
