… oh? There are 3 endings.
Tomorrow I’ll work on music and sound effects, then I’ll proofread everything
Done!
If anyone wants to playtest the final version (and maybe proofread stuff), the link is the same
Maybe I should add some options screen where one can disable music… it’s bad that AGS doesn’t have a standard one.
For a game made in 14 days, I’m satisfied.
Here’s the official submission.
It’s my first game jam and I must say that it’s been a nice experience. From conception to publication in 14 days is a good challenge. If there’s something that this jam taught me, is that adventure games are my genre. I currently have a puzzle game and a platform game on the side, but I’m having a hard time finding the will to develop them. I couldn’t have done a similar thing for another genre.
So, I think I’ll probably start working on a new, longer and better thought-out adventure game
Just getting around to playing your game. It’s fantastic! The kids and I are loving it. Very funny and I can’t believe you created all the artwork in just 2 weeks… bravo!
Thanks for enlightening us with your shiny mind.
Thanks
It’s easy when you’re on sick leave and the kids are at school I had lots of time.
Plus, having ghosts allowed me to avoid drawing walking and talking animations. The time needed to create a new character was literally 5 minutes: change the ghost color/shape, add some fixed detail… done. Even Death and Charon don’t walk.
In 19 days there’ll be another adventure game jam - AdvXJam - itch.io - and I’ll try to join, but now I’m back to work so the time will be less. So I’ll try for an art style that allows me to draw even less
Stickmen-ghosts?
… Some little birdie told me that somebody won some adventure game jam with some adventure game about some Halloween party…
Congrats @Guga!!!
I almost made him derail with my suggestions, but he did it anyway!
At one point, I insisted that he should drop his stupid idea, and make a game about a Jehovah’s witness who sawed off his own leg.
That’s what I call a brilliant plot!
Where’s the link to the Kickstarter page?
I should mention that this Jehovah’s witness did not believe in the expiration of foods. So each time he went into a house he ate the expired food of the landlord, and each time he would lose a piece of his own body. But he still would refuse to believe in the expiration of foods. Eventually he would be left with only the torso, and he would crawl from house to house, spreading the word of the Lord.
I’ll support that Kickstarter!
Very polished, loved it.
Thanks everyone now I’m gathering ideas for my next game, I’d like to make a medium length game, at least 1h of gameplay. I have an idea for a longer game, but I keep that for a kickstarter
unless things change, I don’t have the time to produce a full length game in my spare time, it needs to be my day job!
Congugalations! Really proud to see “one of us” win this jam!
The theme is “A good time”. I have 14 days. Let’s see what I can do… well, time to watch Phineas & Ferb with my daughters to look for ideas
Two days have passed and I think I’ve finalized the puzzle structure. I hope it’s not too complicated, but it’s all condensed in few rooms (six in total, plus one for the ending), so except for animations (which I can shamelessly skip) it’s not going to take long to finish art.
I could do with one room less, but I like to give the player a sense of exploration, even if one room is there just for a single object, for such a short game it adds to the immersion.
The problem is, I’m at work now this whole thing of having to work to pay the bills is a bit annoying.
