Just released adventure games

Ok. Then I won’t buy it yet.

Are we still talking about Loco Motive here?

I hardly remember any details of the AdvXJam version, but the full game has plenty of extra content and polish, making it worth the 20€ price tag. A lot more entertainment value than a movie ticket + popcorn (especially given the movies they’re making these days ).

I hope so.

I didn’t liked the end of the AdXJam version, so I won’t buy the “full” version for 20 Euros. Maybe if it’s on sale.

I’m sure this is true in this case! But I also won’t watch a movie in a cinema if I disliked the preview - but maybe on Netflix/Disney+/whatever.

If that’s your worry, then don’t worry . Saying more might spoil your fun, though.

Yeah I may have mislead earlier. The game is way longer and better than the demo.

“The Brilliant Coup” feels the most similar to Zak McKracken. This is due to the setting, the mechanics, the difficulty (very, very high), and the interface (more cumbersome than the latest SCUMM versions). A downside is that it lacks a bit of “heart.” The characters aren’t very appealing; a bit flat. At least the protagonists. The writing isn’t excellent (but this doesn’t mean it’s bad). Let’s say it’s one of those games where getting stuck isn’t enjoyable. On the other hand, it wasn’t always enjoyable in Zak either. We’ll see how it goes (if I manage to get unstuck).

Stellar Mess 2 is just out! The first was very good, so I was looking forward to the second part.

If you liked Overboard!, take a look at Expelled!

Sadly not on GOG this time. Or at least not yet. One can only hope …

As an aside, also got that inkle news in my mailbox together with the Expelled! release notification:

There’s more from inkle coming up in the next month or so, but nothing we can reveal yet! But fans of A Highland Song or Heaven’s Vault should pay attention to our Bluesky feed to hear the news when it lands!

Exciting!

Also available on Gog:

And another one:

That one has been in development for quite a while, I think, but looks interesting.

Too bad Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is out on GOG at last, so no time to spare for this or Rosewater (or any of the other titles I picked up during the Spring sale) at the moment. And no hope of completing KC:D2 by the time Old Skies comes out end of April either … but what a month for P&C adventures!

Brassheart wasn’t on my radar, but on my wishlist, and it’s out now (also on GOG, no matter what the boxy-thingy says):

Another one for the backlog, then.

Looks a little bit like Deponia…

Other times. I was incentivated to restart and do better, because of my mistakes.

Something more retro-looking for a change

Hopefully it’s not as depressing as the film Mars Express. The plot synopsis sounds awfully similar.

A new game by @Guga was released some weeks ago:

It is very good. Though I am not sure it was really done by Guga, or if he got some ghost writer. It is definitely gugesque, but the lack of toilet humor is puzzling.

And another one:

This one I will probably skip for now, even though I played the first part. Perhaps one for a time when adventure-starvation sets in again .

From the makers of Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure (which admittedly I haven’t played) comes Near-Mage, which sounds like it might be more of an Adventure / RPG hybrid, or something along those lines:

Not quite sure what to make of it, but looks like something I could enjoy.
