Language, Step-ladders, Ace Attorney, and Why Do We Keep Going Off-topic

It’s quite interesting how we got from Soundtrack jamming sessions over common English sayings, slippery stepladders (interrupted shortly by a toffee) to the English translation of Ace Attorney.

We are either genius or completely nuts. Or completely nuts genius. Maybe @PiecesOfKate writes some day an academic paper about us and this forum…

Which two? Me, him or the other?

Calypso must be having a meltdown :fearful:

That we are!

Not only Calypso, but more nh_cham who started the thread: He gets a notification every time somebody posts a new post. Maybe Calypso can move our discussions starting with the language discussion into a new off-topic thread…

Yes you can! :notes:

Sorry not helping…

The reason we keep going off topic is actually quite amazing.

This is a forum about one video game. And maybe going back to others from the past. But in essence it´s a forum about a game we all like. This is where most of our common interests could end.

But they don´t.

I´ve met so many people here who share the same interest in the kind of games, movies, books, tv shows, even music and many other even more obscure things (language, psychology, art, history etc.) even general world view (admit it most of you are raging bloody liberals, right?) as I do and especially my kind of out there humour that it´s just fun to be around you guys even if there isn´t that much to say about the game anymore (except for the odd update once in a while).

Just wanted to get that out there while at the same time apologizing to @nh_cham once more! :flushed:

I agree. Maybe a mailing list would fit our “needs” better than a forum with “linear” threads.

Or a better way to talk live when we can agree on certain times. I actually brought a forum back on the rails once by adding a chat. Do people still do that these days?

And if you think I talk a lot to certain people on here remember I´m also in touch on twitter with a few on here, so it´s even more than it looks like. :upside_down_face:

Yes, chats are still common.

But I haven’t the time to be (very often) in a chat. In a forum or a mailing list I’m able to write every time I have the (spare) time and are still able to comment posts/things that were a little bit older.

And I fear that we would all move over to the chat and leaving this forum abandoned behind us…

Unfortunately I’m not on Twitter. :frowning: (I do there only job related things…)

And same again. I hate Facebook. It makes people so self-involved and bloody bragtastic. Yuck.

My thoughts exactly!

Same here. I’m usually a lot busier at work

Thank you to @Calypso for tidying things up and being tolerant of the mess :relaxed:

This should be a real word!

I would be much more productive without this forum… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It´s pretty much the only social media I learned to tolerate over time. I still don´t give a rats ass about facebook.

Sheesh it´s really busy here today!

It´s not like I got no things to do tonight or anything:

Same. I used to allocate time to sit in chat rooms but I couldn’t do that now.
