No, you’re in the majority. I’m the reverse of most people here
Regarding Sonic, I’ve played a few games from the 3D era, and that’s the formula that I’m used to. But my first memories of playing a Sonic game are of Sonic Advance 3, for the Gameboy Advance. It was in 2D, and it was by far my favourite game for that console
Note to self: add video of catchy snow level music when I get home
I do have the Classic Collection for the PS2, but I haven’t played it very much.
Has anyone played Nights into Dreams? I played the sequel for the Wii, and then the original on Steam.
I really like it
I’ve played Sonic Generations (Xbox) which was actually pretty cool, but I couldn’t get past the ridiculous Shadow boss level. It just wasn’t clear what I was supposed to be doing to defeat him.
Was it anything like fighting your mirror image in Prince of Persia?
Haha
Actually no, this was worse.
So, you could join the Sonic challenge and crush us all with your fast reflexes…
… or miserably fail trying! Muahahah!
No… not yet at least!
Balls. It turns out we don’t have the Mega Drive version on the Pie.
But it’s okay, IT’S OKAY, I’ve just found my Mega Drive in the cupboard! Now, how does one set this up again…
Just stick all the cables in the right holes.
Hope you still got a TV to connect to with that awful coax antenna switcher. (Again: that RGB cable of retro gamers cables is great- I have one with the stereo sound. Just beware that MD1 and MD2 require a different cable)
Why don’t you download it? I mean, I did it just because you suggested it it takes 5 minutes.
Minor correction there.
I can’t find an aerial connection in our house I don’t think I’ve tried connecting it since we moved.
I don’t know how
I’ll cook dinner and come back to it.
There, there…
I’m being an idiot. We do have Mega Drive Sonic on the Pie. My brain was looking for Tetris because I’m so used to playing that
Sigh. I’ll play it after dinner.
So I´ll try to do this live now. Feel free to say hi!
It’s actually pretty easy - I mean, as soon as you have an USB stick prepared for it. The first time it can take some time.
Take an empty USB stick formatted in FAT32 and put it in your RetroPie before turning it on. Turn it on, wait until it stops blinking. Now put it in your computer and copy the roms in the retropie/roms/X folder where X is the respective console (in this case, megadrive). Then plug the USB stick in the RetroPie, again before turning it on. Now your rom is in your system and will stay there… FOREVER!!!
I always keep a USB stick with the correct folders so I just have to copy new roms on the right folder so that it takes a couple of minutes in total.
If you want, you can avoid the first plugging if you copy on the stick my configuration from here retropie.zip - Google Drive which already has one single rom - that is, Sonic. I deleted all the other roms I had, since once in the system you don’t have to keep them on the stick too. Otherwise you’d have, like, all football games ever published for SNES.
I can hear you but I can’t see anything…
Same. It was working but not I can only see an error icon. Hm, what are you playing…
Working now!
Click his name and open it in another tab. I couldn’t get it to work here.
Thanks, that’s really helpful I’ll bookmark it and give it a go next time I need to install something (see embarrasing post above).
