Netflix (and other VOD) recommendations

I´ll be watching Lights Out Tonight.

It is based on the director´s own award winning short(2.5 mins) film:

Now, if you are sensitive to jumpscares this one might even cure you from that. The premise is just so creepy and I really really enjoyed this up until the moment of the reveal which made me laugh out loud. Sometimes it just doesn´t work if you show something.

The Dreamworks animation movies are much more violent…

…than?

…everything?

It’s the first movie I saw in theater.

I haven’t seen that Frozen movie, which is odd perhaps because <3 Kristen Bell, but I’ve seen the majority of the Pixar/Disney movies…

Besides, Marvel is Disney too. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: (bonus smileys)

Well that of course changes everything!

confession: I still need to watch The Little Mermaid for the very first time…
I did watch the extra on the DVD: the Little Match Girl
(confession 2: yes I did )

My first film at a movie theater was Aladdin!
Still is my favourite Disney movie. Although Rapunzel (Tangled for you English speaking folks) comes in as a very very close second.

I didn’t realise they changed the name for the Disney version. That’s pretty stupid

That was in 1993, I thought you were a couple years older than I?

First film I saw at the cinema was Others with Nicole Kidman. 2001. With my girlfriend when I was 22?

When I was a kid it was all expensive, we were poor and even renting VHS films from Blockbuster or Ritz was a big thing. We were really excited when we had the chance to watch ‘new’ films like that.

That only happened a few times as well.

I think because I wasn’t used to going to the cinema for a lot of time when I was working I never thought of it as an option as something to do.

Turns out her ex was in the line as wel and that nearly kicked off into a punch up between me and Andy.

I’ve only seen about 15? films at the cinema even now. I’d love to go more but work life gets in the way.

I mght be wrong but I think the total of my cinema experience is:

Creed
Terminator Genesis 3d / Terminator Genesis 2d
Terminator 2 HD
Others
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
Children of Men
Good Day to Die Hard
Blade Runner Final Cut
Die Hard Reissue HD print
The Equaliser
Mission Impossible Rogue Nation
The Bourne Legacy
Jason Bourne
Rocky Balboa
Blade Runner 2049

@milanfahrnholz Gillian Jacobs was just in an episode of Rick and Morty :slightly_smiling_face:

Also in Italy it’s called Rapunzel, but the fairy tale is known as Raperonzolo. But at least the protagonist has the same name. It’s worse when you’re speaking about Moana/Vaiana.

I guess it makes sense, since she was on Community and that´s where Dan Harmon knew her from.

Really gotta start with Rick & Morty finally. Maybe already next week or something.

Oh right, yeah. Makes sense.

I don’t like pushing things on people but it really is so good (and up your alley, I reckon). There are lots of little concepts (some that are barely part of the storyline) that just blow my mind. Like the one about the microplanet that unwittingly generates electricity for Rick’s car. The twist (which I obviously won’t disclose) is just perfect.

Hope you can get past the burping - that irritated me at first.

My two.

Shouldn´t be a problem.

With a main character, bear in mind.

Well I´ll check it out regardless. You´re also only the 5th billionth person that is raving about it. I really wonder if that is bad for my expectations.

I recommend Documentary Now, S1:E6 - The Blue Jean Committee.

Some of the scenes are direct parodies from The Eagles documentary.
