Ron declares he is working on a new Monkey Island

Probably, but not necessarily. The photograph of the castaway is also ripped.

There’s no GOG release? Well, looks like I won’t be purchasing the game then. I refuse to support DRM bullshit.

I just preordered it!
I’m looking forward to using the horse armor on everything for no reason.

Not at the moment. I’m sure they’ll sell the game on GOG as well, but currently there is no information on when it will happen.

Would be nice to have a useless horse head on GOG.

There is a rough plot on the steam page:

It’s been many years since Guybrush Threepwood was last locked in a battle of wits with his nemesis, the zombie pirate LeChuck. His true love, Elaine Marley, has turned her focus away from governing and Guybrush himself is adrift and unfulfilled, having never found the Secret of Monkey Island. Hip, young pirate leaders led by Captain Madison have shuffled the old guard from power, Melee Island has taken a turn for the worse, and famed businessman Stan has been imprisoned for ‘marketing-related crimes’.

How bizarre! Based on the backgrounds, I don’t think they’re the same photo? So not some ex?

I think it’s the same text that you can read on the official website.

I don’t think they are, but it’s difficult to say for certain. It’s a peculiar coincidence, though.

Have you realized what is that? :stuck_out_tongue:

I wish there was some physical copies to preorder too. Or some merch. Or some preorder bundles! This is the time to make money! I’d buy a tshirt today gladly!

Looks like an attempted murder weapon.

Does anyone else find it weird the way that Elaine has her desk out there in the open, atop a cliff? What does she do when it rains?!

It reminds me of Stan’s desk in Escape From Monkey Island, which I always figured was because the developer’s couldn’t be bothered/ran out of time to render the inside of the building.

Tell the servants to lug it back inside.

If you know that the pirates are in the Scumm Bar, you have to find the Scumm Bar first. This is a part of the puzzle. Yes, it’s easy to find the Scumm Bar, but other places in other puzzles might be not.

And …

… to me it is. To remember where things are is part (and a puzzle!) of each adventure game.

But maybe I’m too old-fashioned in this way. Back then we had to write notes on paper to solve a lot of puzzles, to draw a map of the environment or to remember things. It seems that this isn’t common in modern adventure games anymore.

How many casual and new players will do this during the whole game? They get a description of the object instantly. Why should they, for example, look explicitly at the door? Especially if they get (“only”) a funny response.

And if they have to use “look at” to get important information, then you have to click anyway and you don’t need the instantly shown information.

Why doesn’t use the game two objects automatically if possible?

As I wrote above: I would like to decide what I have a closer look at and when. (And I wouldn’t like to get hints in advance.) It’s like losing the control over the game (partly).

My PC has crashed for a few months now, I’m just hoping I’ll buy a new PC by the time RtMI comes out… or at least RtMI comes out on mobile. :face_with_thermometer:

You can’t ! because I as the author have coughed blood to make this joke and now you have to read it!

I forgot to read stream comments during the reveal, but apparently this guy did, and posted some negative ones:

I wonder how representative that is of outsiders to the series.
