I forced myself to stop the video when Guybrush is opening the book. I don’t want to be spoiled on puzzles.
… but I’m excited as well, so it’s really hard to stop myself from watching more.

Nothing special to see here: no jokes, nothing. No dialogs even. Just questions like “how can I do this?” and answers like “go here”.
if it’s not enough, you click “give me another hint”. And so on.
We can safely avoid picking the notebook.

Is this the first time we’ve heard the Voodoo Lady’s voice acting in this game? Sounding good.
The hint book looks highly ignorable, for those who want to do so. I think the generic illustrations within look cute.

I watched it. It doesn’t really spoil anything, so, phew. At least, nothing we didn’t see.

Hint: don’t talk to the people in the SCUMM bar. They’re all very silly, and might say funny things. Avoid that nonsense.

So you just made me realize that you can complete all of Secret without talking to anyone in the SCUMM Bar at all - before or after Elaine’s kidnapping - and a lot of us do this when trying to play the game quickly.
