I always assumed Ron meant that he didn’t like the Chuck Jones style for the sequel to Maniac Mansion. and I’d agree with him. I like the art style of the game if it existed in isolation but the entire tone of DOTT doesn’t work for me. Maybe if it looked like it does and then the rest of it felt more like Maniac Mansion I’d be fine with the art, but the combination of all the changes did not work for me.

Maniac Mansion may be my favorite game of all time and I never got more than a few hours through DOTT. It’s just not what I wanted.

You might be right. I always loved DOTT, but I never played MM so dont have any real attachments to it.

Same here. On the contrary, I played a bit of MM on the Computer in DOTT, but I could not really get into it, because of how different it was.

Ron just replied on twitter that MI2’s ending wasn’t originally planned for MI1.

My guess is that the player plays as Ron and Dave, and Guybrush does the developer commentary.

Out of the characters on that cross-stitch; Stan, Herman, Elaine, Guybrush and Murray are 100% confirmed for Return to Monkey Island, via voice recording acknowledgements. LeChuck is virtually confirmed, given that they did approach Earl Boen to reprise the role and turned them down but gave his blessing to recast the role. I can’t imagine that The Voodoo Lady won’t be in the game. Therefore the character who doesn’t make an appearance in the game is JoJo the monkey.

I hope not because she’s one of my favourite characters and I intend to complete the game without using any hints. Therefore, I would hate to miss out on a bunch of her character’s dialogue and voice acting. I ought to be rewarded for not using hints, not punished!
