Ron declares he is working on a new Monkey Island

Devolver digital will announce at least four titles

There’s no confirmation that Devolver Digitial will show anything related to Return to Monkey Island but they will. Have faith. There’s literally no reason for them not to. I’ll be extremely surprised if we don’t get some new footage and/or screenshots at the very least. Personally, I’m expecting a full trailer and a release date.

Ok, and if they do announce RtMI, could they not show some new footage?

Technically, the announcement for RtMI has already been made. So, if there’s no new footage, this would amount to not doing anything at all…

Preciously, which is why there’s no reason for anyone to think that we won’t see something more of the game. The game releases this year. They’ll want to get the PR material into full gear sooner rather than later at this point. I’m saying all of this as someone who tends to view the glass as half empty, but it’s just common sense that we can expect to see a fair bit of new material during the livestream. It’s just how marketing works.

Do you all think “Card Shark”'s budget is more or less than RTMI? I find the art amazing…

I remember that the Steam page for TWP was created just six weeks before the release of the game. I just hope that they will move a bit more in advance, this time.

The Steam page for Dwarf Fortress was created a long time ago, the declared release date of the game is literally “time is subjective” and in the meantime they have accumulated more than 100K followers who will receive a mail or a notification when the game will be out.

Here is a list of the most followed upcoming games on Steam. It would be nice to see Return to Monkey Island in that list.

I’d imagine that the budgets between the two games are comparable.

It seems it started early!

Nope, it’s just ads and there’s a countdown to the event

OK, lets’ do this thing. :coffee: :expressionless:

Is this a thing, actually? Like a watch party?

20 minutes left…

I have one wine bottle ready on my right in case Monkey Island is good.

And two bottles on my left in case it’s bad…

Probably wise for everyone to go into this with an open mind because chances are that it’s not going to be the game we imagined. For example, it’s likely that when people first see how Guybrush looks in the game, it’ll be a weird feeling for a lot of people because he’ll look stylistically very different to what we’re used to. The same goes for other aspects of the game, such as the user interface.

Prepare to be taken aback by what we see and chances are you’ll be a lot happier at the end of the trailer. Expectations and preconceived notions are often the pathway to disappointment.

Ok, I’ll start drinking already then… :champagne:

Get three more ones in case they will show nothing about the game.

I agree, we should be just grateful for this game being still a thing after thirty years, regardless of how much we’ll like the game.

Stream is broken with horrendous lag

Yes. I’m sure it’s going to freeze exactly on the sentence “and the secret of monkey island is…”

You just know they’re gonna save Return to Monkey Island 'til last.

I still think Ron is too lazy to make a trailer…
