The "I can't sleep" thread

Well, time to sleep now. I hope to gather material for the other topic

I´ve never written anything on the phone lying in bed so far, but I like the idea. Sounds Proust-ish.

Curry pizza or curry bath?

Depends on the shampoo…

/edit: Or the aftershave

I do it quite a lot. I call it jim-jam foruming.

Bath, obviously. I mean, come on.

There are explicitly games for relaxation purposes. (And some “normal” games are making me sleepy anyway. )

I just think staring at a screen is a bad idea. Maybe he could imagine he’s playing game

No one in my family has any problems with falling asleep trying to look at a screen. Lately it´s been starting with me, too…

Indeed. But playing such a game could be “calmative” (is that the right word? :)) so that the stress is reduced. The next step is to turn off the computer and go to sleep.

Here too. Best results are achieved with action movies and thrillers (not kidding!). So maybe watching Derrick is also worth a recommendation…

But I wouldn’t recommend it as a way to try and sleep if you’re struggling. It’s too stimulating.

I often fall asleep in front of the TV but if I couldn’t sleep I wouldn’t put the TV on.

Calming.

It wouldn’t normally be recommended as it’s a bit too interactive. It’d probably take a while to switch off after that. If someone really can’t sleep I guess they may as well, but that’s not really the same thing.

Hm… My Dictionary says “calmative” (adj.) for “beruhigend”. But I trust you more.

Don’t think of a regular game. These special games are helping to reduce the stress. But yes, …

… I need some time after switching off the PC too.

Maybe in ‘calmative properties’ and that sort of thing, but it’s a bit overkill. In fact my spellchecker changed it to ‘calamari’ :grinning:

I go bub-eyes now

A calamari wouldn’t be calming to me…

Oh no - why do you all leave me alone here in this dark spooky night? :disappointed_relieved: There are monsters around. Under my bed. Sometimes. I think…

Either you don´t want to be alone or you don´t want to have company under your bed. Make up your mind!

Uh, difficult decision. What do you recommend from your own experiences?

Hard to say, it´s been ages since I´ve had a bed that had an actual space under it.

Wouldn’t it be better for you to have company on the bed?

Hey, let´s keep things realistic here, okay? :frowning:

So back to monsters then…

He said on, not in. He’s referring to a cat or a dog, obviously.

Hahaha, yes, sure, why not!

That dog looks like he was thinking:“I´m going to eat them…one day I´m going to eat them. Ohhh they smell so tasty…”
