Mmmm yeah, I love shortbread. The plain kind is nice but these are yummy for a treat too

Actually as far as pastry goes I prefer shortcrust. Especially when it comes to pies.

There was Puff the magic dragon decades ago. And just like in english we use that word as an onomatopea. So the fact that you associate it with a Bordello is just your dirty mind. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Maybe in Bavaria. :wink: I can’t remember another usage or that this word was used as an onomatopea. But we have a “Muff”, yes.

There is a certain word that is a big problem between bavaria and everywhere else. Maybe you know it.

It is basically the german word for cunt. We, however mainly use it for “mouth” as well as a slap in the face.

That could lead to some very ambiguous insults, perhaps :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you know how they call it in the French part of Switzerland? Royale with cheese Fromage d’Italie. Yep, “Italian cheese”. What the…?

Really none of those names make any sense. But in the end it´s actually the kind of processed meat that @ema dislikes so much.

Well, Leberkäse and Fleischkäse do make some kind of sense if you think about it. Well, Leber- only if it has liver in it, but don’t forget that Käse also means “nonsense, absurdity”. And it is a “meat absurdity”.

It almost never has any liver in it. But true about the cheese part. Also in english for that they call “head cheese”.

Strawberries!
Slice them in two or four
Add the juice of 1 lemon per 1kg of strawberries. Add sugar and mix with a spoon until you get some liquid.

Is the German stuff different than the leverkaas we have in the Netherlands? It’s basically liver paste (pâté) with some starch to keep it firm. It’s very low on the scale of processing and is mostly just liver.

Wait, what?! The Dutch stuff does. Here are the ingredients for a random run of the mill leverkaas:

Ingrediënten: varkensvleesª, 29% varkensleverª, water, varkensspekª, aardappelzetmeel, 3% mechanisch gescheiden varkensvleesª, rundvet, zout, zuurteregelaar (E325, E326), stabilisator (E450, E451, E452, E466), ui, specerijen, suiker, varkenseiwit, aroma, antioxidant (E301), gistextract, conserveermiddel (E250), vanillearoma. ªMet Beter Leven keurmerk.

The 29% liver is on the lower end of the scale.

According to wikipedia they “should” be the same, but they don’t look the same. It’s not pâté, often doesn’t contain liver at all.

And I love it. While I hate liver.
