David Fox (with Annie Fox) and Noah Falstein in Germany in August! (+The price of pizza)

i jumped in to the stream and clicked an earlier point in timeline. You may have to be logged in in order to do that.

I didnā€™t see any timeline but I guess I only logged in after a little bit for the chat.

Here is a link to the clip with timestamp of their talk:

Oh, someoneā€™s rocking a certain T-shirt!
I think I will have to upload a picture of mine too so I will get my cut of the ad revenue.

This one was a collaboration: I drew the Caponianā€™s wardrobe on a napkin and David signed it so itā€™d be worth a million. The only piece made by Sushi and the designer of Sushi and the Alien Mindbenders.

I can offer you 10 euros!
Plus expedition fees.

If the image is accurate then the fees are at least 531.76 EUR :money_with_wings:

Those are 100 cent bills. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: or maybe some leftover Lire, which would make it about 30 cents.

Errā€¦ 600 Lire are more or less 30 euro centsā€¦

Tbh besides the Mark and the Guilder I donā€™t really remember 'em. Even the Belgian Franc requires serious mental gymnastics.

Simple division (or multiplication) by 40!
I still calculate large amounts to it.

In the case of Italian lira (plural: lire) itā€™s easyā€¦ the ā€œunitā€ was a 1000L coin (or bill) which was the price for an espresso or a newspaper. It was exchanged for 50 euro cents. Normally speaking we never referred to ā€œlireā€ (liras) but to ā€œmilalireā€ (thousand liras). So you basically have to double your euro amount to get your correspondent price in ā€œmilalireā€.
ā€œWow, this pizzeria is expensive! They sell a Margherita for 12 milalire! Thatā€™s 6 eurosā€ā€¦

BTW: 6 euro for a margherita is really cheap, nowadays. But 12.000L for a Margherita would have been considered robbery, back then.
