New (worse) website design?

Today I noticed that the Thimbleweed Park website has a new simpler design. Is this correct or do I have a problem with my browser?

If there was a re-design: Why did they do this? I liked the multi-layer background. Now the site looks like “we just set up WordPress”.

Looks like it changed. Though it’s not WordPress, but something from https://manakeep.com/. Unless that sits on top of WordPress. I don’t follow web design any more, these days, so I wouldn’t want to rule out anything …
