I am very happy to have such features within the game, just providing that the hint system is entirely optional (Thimbleweed Park handled that aspect beautifully) and that the non-casual mode is designed with adventure game veterans is mind (i.e. as challenging as the likes of the hard mode within Monkey Island 2).

it’s not a glass eye in Return to Monkey Island , it’s an eyepatch with a drawing of a glass eye on top of it. Therefore, it seems likely that

… this is Wally!
After all, he did poke out his own eye at the start of CoMI. No harm done though, he didn’t see too much with it anyway as we all know from MI2.
So: timetravelling!
