Strange food you should really give a try

But not with a filled crust (if I haven’t overlooked something…)?

No, only “The Take Away” from Austria has that it would seem.

“Real American taste.” ROFLMAO

Edit: But actually the filled with tomato sauce thing doesn’t sound too bad. A bit soggy perhaps. It’s presumably nothing like the cheese filled and hot dog filled monstrosities at Pizza Hut.

I wonder why they sell this pizza only in Austria and Switzerland…

Pizzaburger??!!??

You’re pulling my pulley… Isn’t that basically just a burger?

Yes. (Video in German, but you can see the burger “in action”):

/edit: Oh, I overlooked that @Frenzie had already posted a video…

No, the patty is missing and the whole thing goes into the oven.

Oh right. Not really anything ‘pizza’ about it though. These kinds of marketing strategies irritate me!

Why? These are two little pizzas jammed together like a sandwich. A pizza “Calzone” uses the same concept. A “burger” has a patty and salad like this:

(But I agree that the concept is weird  )

You kind of answered your own question there

Isn’t that more like a pizza that’s been folded?

If I was being pedantic (who, me?) a more accurate ‘pizza burger’ would be a whole pizza in place of the patty.

It is really more than two mating pizzas than burger tbh.

Feel like I should erm take away the stuffed crust one if they don’t have that at home. But it wouldn’t survive the trip. Grumble…

In Korea I had Pizza where the crust was filled with sweet potato.

There’s also a thing called “pizza-bun”, which is a recipe for a kind of party food.

Simple to make at home, and quite delicious. Nothing to do with pizza, however, apart from some of the ingredients.

Maybe Dr. Oetker will introduce them in Germany and other countries - Austria could be a test market.

I can confirm this.

I may be :imp: but I´m not :japanese_ogre:.

But I haven´t seen them in supermarkets in weeks now. :weary:

But I keep looking out for them! :crossed_fingers:

Neiiiiiin! Actually I haven’t seen them over here in a while either. Oh no, I’ve got that feeling of impending doom.

Though that might be my lunch.

That moment when you´d rather have doom stay with you!

That sounds like the tagline for a really cheesy B movie
