ok… let’s rephrase that. Most grown-ups I know prefer dark chocolate. Supposedly because it is healthier for your heart. But there is of course a huge market for children eating milk chocolate.
I’m young at heart, I guess.
Here in Germany most grown-ups prefer milk chocolate - “Milka” is very popular for example.
Delores is too straight for all that ![]()
I think it’s also because dark chocolate is seen as more luxurious, because it’s stronger. Probably why you don’t get many chocolate bars involving dark chocolate, but quite a lot of delicate thin slabs, truffles and liqueurs.
Now I’m thinking a lot about chocolate. I love these
oh those! you can’t walk down the street here without getting hit in the head by some of those.
these are thick bars…

Me too, and it´s a great placeholder for people who can´t remember my name, too!

Yeah but what I mean is they’re not like a Snickers or something that you just grab as a snack. Or they don’t look like it, at least.
I’m going to start calling you that now.
Eh…Guylian…or whatever that dude´s name is…
I don’t think so: We are “trained” to love sugar (since our childhood) so we prefer more sweet chocolate. Dark chocolate tastes more “bitter”.

It´s true though, people eating dark chocolate feel like gourmets because of that. Bit snobby not to admit to the awful taste methinks.
Hey @PiecesOfKate have you ever seen those?

They are called “Cat´s Tongues” and are available in all three flavours (milk, dark and white). ![]()
I’ll admit that.
But not that! ![]()
Ooh, no! They look yummy, but could I bring myself to eat ‘cats’ tongues’?
Actually these are what I know as cats’ tongues (langues de chat) - are they the same but just chocolate coated?

No, “Katzenzungen” are just chocolate bars in the form of cat tongues - if you have enough imagination. ![]()
According to Wikipedia your “cats’ tongues” are in Germany “Löffelbiskuits” (spoon biscuits) also known as Ladyfingers:
Oh yeah, I guess they’re the same.
Eh, it´s okay on marzipan but not is own really. I don´t like After Eight, too.
As someone said they are just chocolate and nothing else. but they are real good. I had them as a kid a lot and the box is pretty full, too. ![]()
Oh but we got those too!
Whatever your likings in chocolate, we’ve got you covered here!
Also foreign brands like Milka…
That still looks luxury to me - but I guess that’s because you don’t get them in many shops over here.
I love Milka
I buy it every now and then from the airport (when I go on holiday - I don’t just go there for chocolate!)
Don’t you have it in London? I thought it is available in many countries?
Yeah, but it’s a bit difficult to find.
you can’t walk down the street here without getting hit in the head by some of those.
Same in the Netherlands btw.
Yeah but what I mean is they’re not like a Snickers or something that you just grab as a snack. Or they don’t look like it, at least.
But that applies just the same to milk chocolate?
But that applies just the same to milk chocolate?
I’m talking about snack bars like Snickers, Mars, Twix, etc, which are made with milk chocolate. There aren’t many dark chocolate equivalents.
Just break off a bar and take it.
