Double feature tonight!
Episodes 8 “Familliar” and 9 “Nothing Lasts Forever”.
Episode 8 will be on at 8:15 pm GMT+1 (after which I use the gap to episode 9 to write down my thoughts here) while Episode 9 is on at 11:15 pm GMT+1 so they can show it uncut.
That means it will be between eleven and midnight in western europe when I can write about that one so if anyone is still awake then, you´ll get a double feature too, tonight!

Episode 9 Familiar:
Meh. Was a bit pedestrian, the resolution felt a bit rushed. We had black wolves, a creepy/hilarious mask and teletubbies that looked like Dark Elves.
I don´t know, this episode really didn´t do anything for me. Maybe I don´t get much out of the X-Files when they take topics like witchcraft as serious as this, anymore.
4 out of 10 pencils thrown up the office ceiling from me for this one.
Me neither. It was okay, but a bit meh.
Wasn´t that even in Stephen King´s episode “Chinga” where he did that? I love the fact that they stuck with it. Even at the beginning of season 10 when he moved into his otherwise empty office, they still were there. 
Yeah I loved it when they came tumbling down afterwards.
It was a good long-standing joke, heheh.
Righty, 15 more minutes until I watch “Nothing Lasts Forever” the episode that is considered to brutal for german prime time, apparently.
I think the reason that it was deemed so, and the fact that I enjoyed it lots, are not mutually exclusive.

On the other hand though, I was geniunly shocked on monday by Ash vs Evil dead. The massacring of dozens of unpossesed(!) high school students by a doppelganger of our hero was something that caught me off guard in a series that´s usually mostly funny. 
Hm, yeah. Sounds a bit close to the mark. I want to watch that series though. Once I finish The Americans. Which coincidentally featured The Twilight Zone by Golden Earring in the one I saw the other night! 
There is an actress called Fiona Vroom in this episode. Who does she play, a motorbike?
I think I noticed that. I’d love that to be my name. Although it does have a bit of a porn star ring to it.

Actually she has played in Power Rangers and Star Trek. The interesting thing is, that there is only an Italian Wikipedia page about her life…
Does she vaguely look like a slender Christina Hendricks? Because if so she is the definite highlight of this episode!

Yep, that´s her. But it might have been the kind of makeup that made her look like that (well, and the red hair).
So tonight´s second episode was sort of a mix between a David Cronenberg like (e.g. Dead Ringers) body horror story mixed with the classical elements of the Elizabeth Bathory tale.
That actress was really great, I liked the meth junkie shelter like atmsophere of the holdup that contrasted with the stylised madness of the aged actress living in the past like Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard.

Anyway, that final dialogue between the two was really nice and unexpected. They really seem to lead to the end.
