Under development adventure games that are worth a mention

Another Kickstarter project: Lord Winklebottom Investigates with less than 3 days remaining.
It needs help, it’s currently only at ~40%.

People may have heard of it from last AdventureX:
It descibes itself as a 1920s murder mystery point’n’click adventure made by a one-person team from UK: Charlotte Sutherland.

There will be a DRM-free release.

Obviously she is an adventure games fan...

Interesting…

BASS2

I’ve seen Cecil’s tweet about Apple event before, including rumours about an Apple games service.
I was really hoping for a 2D pixel-art BASS2, oh well.

New narrative adventure game by Cyan!
Firmament is now on Kickstarter:

No official information about DRM-free yet.

Edit: It’s noteworthy that the physical box will be a proper big box and will be handled by Fangamer. (There were complains about their physical release with Obduction being just a DVD case).

Pity about all of these “no info about DRM-free” things you post.

I’d very much buy Discworld Noir on GOG. I really enjoyed that game, but it’s annoying that you have to find a no-CD crack post-Win 9x due to the DRM.

I’ve contacted ihobo games if there are any news now since GDC is over.

This was there last statement regarding a DRM-free version:

"At this time, we don’t quite know the answer to this, as it depends upon the publishing partner we take on to help with the console versions. They may object to us distributing a DRM-free version, as publishers get grumpy about such things.

As long as there are no external restrictions preventing us from sharing a DRM-free version with backers, we will include access to a DRM-free build on all the retro cassette USBs. Otherwise, it will have to be a Steam installer or something similar on the retro cassette USB.

We are meeting with publishers at GDC in the middle of the campaign, so we should be able to resolve this question sooner rather than later."

Who knows how the licensing looks like with the Discworld games…

I have kept all of them!

All of them what? No-CD cracks? Windowses? Computers? :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like they aren’t doing so bad . I just never got warm with their type of games. I mean, Myst was the kind of game that you simply had to play back then. But I would have given up on it pretty fast, were it not for the fact that the cluebook was already included in the box.

Still, nice to see a larger video game project on Kickstarter for a change!

Pokeaman! Also No-CD cracks, Windows’ and a bunch of computers.

Yeah. Me too. We’ll have to wait and see.

But it’s unlikely that we’ll get a pixel-art BASS2. Revolution has to sell those games and a pixel-art BASS2 would be hard to sell.

And I have to admit, that the trailer doesn’t look that bad. It has an interesting “atmosphere”.

(But don’t get me wrong: I would prefer a pixelated BASS too  )

Doesn´t even have to be pixelated. Get one of the current regulars of Heavy Metal Magazine to do some backgrounds and you´re on the right track I´d say! :ok_hand:

Yeah, that would be my preference as well. Point and click 2D game with high resolution. It’s a shame the genre mostly died / switched to 3D before we got to experience that.

There still can be BASS 1 remake as 2D HD version… btw; Cecil started using UE4 for BASS 2 after we showed him example of it, but I believe, there is gonna be BASS 1 remake either way.

So Heaven’s Vault got a release date: April 16th. Will probably not be able to play until after the Easter Weekend, but even then that’s less than a month from now .

A new DLC was released: They Came From Below (you can probably guess some influences by that title alone), and again, an awesome trailer:

Moonrise Fall (Steam) is an atmospheric exploration puzzle game.
I’ve watched the trailer and it looks atmospheric indeed, and no fighting involved.

The fan game “Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth” decided to drop the unlicensed Indy IP and continue as “The Fountain of Youth”, with all legally problematic Indy references removed:
