Under development adventure games that are worth a mention

Read that as well, and it’s somewhat sad. But personally, if I’d be investing a lot of time and effort into something, I wouldn’t want to risk all of it going down the drain because some overzealous big corporation does not value my expression of fandom. So the decision is kind of understandable.

Might also indicate that the team has larger ambitions than producing an obscure fan-made tribute that has hopes of flying under the radar (so this could be good news, actually!).

No doubt the atmosphere of the game might change a bit when the famous protagonist is replaced by the rather unknown Idaho Jim, but if the script is any good, this should not be a big deal. (And if it’s bad, the presence of Indy would not have saved it, as The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull successfully demonstrated).

That one is weird: got the box before the game:

Really makes me yearn for more …

Me too… I played the iOS version quite a while ago. Maybe it wasn’t the full version but it was fun.

They do have a demo available for computers and mobiles. Judging by the description on their website, it’s chapter 1 of the game.

I don’t like episodic content that much, so I’ll be waiting for the full game before playing. But at least I can rest assured that it’ll be available for the platform of my choice . (The box specifically lists Windows/Mac/Linux as well)

It doesn’t really seem episodic to me. It’s more like playing TwP up until the point where you get a map.

Yeah, I guess I should have written differently. What I really meant to say was that I did not want to start playing the game as far as the demo allows, then wait for an unspecified amount of time before I can play the rest.

This is going to be a good one… the author says his favorite game is Monkey Island.

He says this in episode 11 of the adventure game podcast, which by the way has become a key reference and has filled the void left by the TWP podcast

For the record: NOT gonna transcribe any of that

Here’s a Kickstarter for Lust from Beyond, a lovecratian erotic horror adventure game that I’m involved with. I’m doing all sound design and editing trailers. I also did music for the trailer below. The demo we’re releasing for Kickstarter backers is rather big and it contains a single story within a bigger universe, so it kind of is a new game already. Obviously the lenght depends on your gaming style, but I think it should be over 40 minutes and I know some play it for 80 min. There are some puzzles typical for adventure games, but the game is more about exploration and story rather than solving stuff. I’m told wishlists on Steam are a big thing for devs, so if any of you are interested, please add us. I’m really curious to hear what you guys think, if any of you will check it out!
And here’s the trailer. It’s occasionally NSFW

Damn, I’ve blown my credit card limit this month… but I still backed this game.
I mean, David Fox practically forced me to:

I’m already practising for Saturday next week…

I read that as “Love from Behind” at first.
You could market it as Lustcraftian

The music and sounds are pretty spooky. Well done!

Elsinore will release on June 24th:

There’s the plan for a same-day Linux release (they had one of the early alphas for Linux, so sounds credible) and possibly it’ll be DRM free on itch.io too (but could also be exclusive to backers).

I really hope they release this on GOG or some other DRM free platform. It sounds like something I would be into… but not on Steam.
