Thatâs pretty impressive! I think we were a few weeks behind last time, and we donât even have any dubbing to do! Iâm pleased itâs coming to a terrestrial channel again though. Apparently itâs the highest rated drama in the history of Channel 5 (which probably doesnât mean as much as it sounds given Channel 5 is primarily built on light porn and reality tosh).
Not really about movies or TV shows but still kinda sorta genre releatedâŚ
So I found out that Amazon Kindle has a few comics for free if you´re a Prime member. I just got myself:
Guardians Of The Galaxy Issue #1
Hellboy Issue #1
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Issue #1
The Incal by Moebius and Jodorowsky Issue #1
The Walking Dead Issue #2 (which will probably confuse the hell out of my before I finally get around to watch the show)
The interface is fantastic, you can zoom in onto every panel and the speech bubbles are focused onto in the order they´re supposed to be read. Awesome stuff!
Try this one: Electric Dreams (TV Series 2017â2018) - IMDb
In Germany it will be available at Amazon Prime in January 2018.
It is based on short stories, sometimes loose.
Edit: Iâm far TOO slow.
Currently it should be canon. Itâs even used in part for Star Trek: Discovery to make holodeck canon in 23rd century.
No problem, no one will hold it against you if you oversee a few posts in a thread with 144.
Yes, it was decanonized and later canonized again. Some Trek fans have always perceived it as a secondary series, though.
Even âStar Trek Continuesâ made the holodeck technology somewhat usable (as a prototype) by Kirk & friends.
Still havenât seen it though, what Iâve seen were some episodes of âStar Trek: New Voyagesâ back when it was still called âPhase IIâ.
It âfeelsâ like a professional TV series like no other fan productions. I have seen a few episodes of other fan-made videos but STC is the only one that makes me forget that Iâm watching an unofficial production.
The first episodes are very good but the production values have even increased in the more recent videos. And the participation of famous Trek alumni or other popular actors makes it even more interesting.
I might have missed it, but have you seen Blade Runner 2049 in the meantime @LowLevel?
Also I made a new letterboxd list that might be interesting to some of you (untick the hide short films box, if that´s on).

Two short videos for reference:
The reason I´m posting all this is that I´m currently reading The Incal Comic by Alejandro Jodrowsky (story) and Jean âMoebiusâ Giraud (illustrations) and it´s simultatously one of the most fascinating pieces of literature and art I´ve ever come across, and it´s influence on modern cinema is greater than you´d expect!
Interesting, I like Jodorowskyâs films like Holy Mountain. His version of Dune would probably be great, too (though I like Lynchâs version).
Btw, your list of course contains Heavy Metal. While not a whole film - this episode would have a place of honour, as it directly parodies the style of the cartoon. The scene where Kenny comes into the hallucinated world is almost exact reproduction of the Heavy Metal cartoon. And of course the scene, where Gerald Broflovski is coming in a plane into this world, which is direct homage to the B-17 episode of the film.
And they even use two of the songs! Yes, that was a good episode. They´re great at style parodies like that anime one and I think they´ve done a few others here and there that used a distinct form of animation.
Blade runner is my fave
Really good track record for this year. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Blade Runner 2049 and The Last Jedi, all really great.
More blurry hands holding blurry objects above white tables. What a fascinating phenomenon.
I like how that box has a âdoorâ on the front (I think).
It is! You open the door that is attached with a little magnetism and inside are the five amarays for each season.
I thought you that you unlock the door with the key of imagination⌠and beyond it is another dimension: A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mindâŚ

the key of imagination
Why not ask Mr. Serling himself what that key is?
O-kayâŚif you say soâŚ
