Football isn’t easy at all. But with the costumes it would be at least funny.
As long as I don’t have to play, this would be Ok I think. But then the goal keepers have to wear a Ransome like hairdress and a red balloon - and the other players either a Sexy Riker or a Madame Morena costume.

There are several other (interesting) football board games. I’ll search for a board game for more than two players. (In the 80s there was even a board game that needed the computer to play, but I can’t remember the name at the moment…)
@Guga - at some point you will get the ball, when you do, do a big boot up the field - this way we don’t have to do any of that proper football stuff in the middle of the pitch…
@PiecesOfKate - your job is to then fly through the air and do an overhead bicycle kick…
…meanwhile, I will be running down the middle of the field carrying @milanfahrnholz on my shoulders. This way we’ll be a good 3-4 feet taller than the surrounding defenders and @milanfahrnholz will then head the ball from @PiecesOfKate into the goal.

While Sweden survived the qualification at the expense of Netherlands, then the play-off against Italy and now wins the World Cup first round overcoming Germany at points! That’s impressive.
I only saw the last 15 minutes or so of the match and that was the best/most important part:

Seeing how many of the matches were decided in the last few minutes, I propose to drop the first two halves and immediately start with the stoppage time. It’s also good for TV, as they can show more commercials that way.
