Free game of the day

Yes, and I was pretty sure that the first GRID game was DRM free on Gog…

Yup, looks like it left in 2016.

I was looking into the recent Grid, as there were rumors of an upcoming Linux port, but from what I’ve seen I’d also categorize it under “meh” :grinning:.

I guess for the truly realistic racing sims you do (something like Grand Prix Legends or whatever present day alternatives there might be). I’ve been playing a bit of F1 2017 over the past year, and while it took some getting used to, a gamepad works reasonably well. Not ideal, but manageable.

Burnout Paradise is absolutely amazing!!! I love it too!

Never heard of this game, but… hey, it’s free. For a limited time.

I won’t add it, because it’s not DRM free. :frowning:

I’ve been playing Just Cause 4 (free on Epic) for the past 2 days. I heard terrible reviews since release but I think its good. I was a huge JC3 fan and it’s not a huge improvement but another narrative and some new stuff, and it’s free right now. Also free is Wheels of Aurelia which also has mixed reviews; haven’t tried it yet.

I only realised on the last panel that this wasn’t the most awesome moustache ever.

Gta 5 might be free on Epic Store soon…

Might be? Is it any good? I didn’t like IV nearly as much as San Andreas, never finished it.

I don’t know… I love IV but never played V

It is… free, that is.
Apparently everyone went crazy to get their free copy, which overloaded epic’s severs that yesterday epic store was down and also kids couldn’t play their Fortnite (gasp!)

Anyway, another “I might give it a go for 1 hour just to see what the fuss is about” tagged games that I might actually never end up installing in my collection.
(Right up there with Farming Simulator 19)

Oh, @Frenzie it is claimed to be the BEST game. Ever.

If you are more into cute pixels and pixies, check out this BEST game. Ever. *

Take it, GTA V! It’s awesome! If you liked GTA IV, you must play the V!

I admit that never got into the GTA series. But I liked and played the first two parts (the ones with the top-down view). @ZakPhoenixMcKracken: Can you list some of the things that you like most in the games? (Maybe I should try them again?)

I’ve never played it - I loved GTA1 and I really liked GTA3 when I tried it, so I’m waiting for the Epic servers to be alive to get it.

By whom? Anyway, I’ll give it a go sometime. I wonder why that Epic Games Launcher thing doesn’t tell you how how space a game will take in advance… Also I’ve got a pretty amusing mismatch there.

GTA V:

  • three characters to play with, each with their own story and missions to do. Some missions involve two or three of them to cooperate
  • maniacally detailed graphic quality. I usually don’t care of the quality to judge a game, but this case is different: weather, shadows, radio stations, cinema, reactions… everything is at an awesome detail level
  • long story! Dozens of hours guaranteed!
  • you can freely go anywhere, without the need to make missions. Those are needed only to advance in the main plot.
  • you can play tennis, golf, darts. You can race with cars, bikes, parachutes. You can drive trucks, cranes, ships, planes, military aircrafts.
  • you can choose to be honest or not, help somebody in need or ignore, you can make missions involving more violence than intelligence, or the opposite.

And all of these only for the “off line” version!

EDIT: I’m downloading it on my mobile PC, it requires 90GB of free space. With this version you have unlimited access to GTA ONLINE, with additional missions, Las Vegas casino, and so on!

95GB?!? That explains why it was taking me AGES to have it installed. I thought it was just frozen and killed it. My Internet connection is too awful these days to download such a monstrosity, I’ll wait.
