now this is REALLY interesting, looks innovative.
Oh, murder mysteries! It’s definitely an unconvential pixel graphics style:
Lucy Dreaming is out. Finally an hard-core game with no hand-holding. Feels like Maniac Mansion. Play it!
Jennifer Wilde is also out today:
Backed that on Kickstarter, still waiting for my key. But as it’s 4 years late, I don’t think a day or two will make a big difference. From the release trailer, it does look pretty good, though. I’ll report once I got a chance to play.
hmm. I got my key on oct 18 at noon…
Did you opt for itch.io or Steam? If former, then maybe I need to make an inquiry. If latter, I’d give them the benefit of doubt and would assume that it’s much easier for developers to hand out Steam keys than it might be for other platforms.
I opted for Steam. You’re probably right then.
And it’s here . Too late to start playing today, but I’m sure to give it a spin tomorrow.
More puzzle than adventure:
They have a demo on itch.io, but seems the full release is only on Steam. While I am not totally into that thing IRL (laziness usually wins over the urge to tidy everything up), I do find a certain satisfaction in ordering or arranging things in specific ways. Or seeing people like Ursus Wehrli do it.
Too bad I can’t get it without also buying RtMI. Hm … .
Batty Zabella:
Return to Monkey Island will be released on GOG.com on Monday!
Oh, that old game? Good to see GOG is returning to its roots and focus on making Good Old Games available again to nostalgic players on modern PCs
this one seems nice: professor crackbrain.
And it’s even available in itch.io for the Steam-phobic:
I was expecting a Breaking Bad kind of game
Hey folks, I’ve almost finished Unusual Findings and… it is incredibly good. It blows away great games like Hob’s Barrow and Lucy Dreaming. Heck, it’s better than RTMI. Puzzle-wise it is great. Atmosphere is great. Puzzles are hard but fair. It is the perfect Stranger Things game.
Finished Unusual Findings, it is excellent, some puzzles are even inspired. Two of them are based on your assumptions about the interface. Amazing. Very long also. When you think the game is finished, another huge world opens up.
In other news, “Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard” is out. Save 45% on Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard on Steam
Odd thing I noticed about Unusual Findings on Steam: the 'Llama bundle" with Darkestville Castle is less than just the game itself: $12.06 (66% off) for me instead of $14.99 (25% off).
Strange. Is such a bundle any cheaper if you already own Darkestville Castle btw?
