People like Kate and I, and many others have a special kind of taste.
The french fries and wieners pizza is wonderful. My wife and I sometimes order it for our daughters just to eat part of their pizza 
The only problem with pineapple pizza is that it’s not an Italian’s idea. Otherwise we’d have Italians eating it too.

Yes. Or, at least, you could find such a pizza in most pizzerias when I was young. Some called it “the German”, some “the American”. The fact is, wurstels are a very common pizza topping, and when eaten outside of pizza, wurstels are usually accompanied by fries. So the connection is trivial.
Hawaii pizza was completely unknown to Italians before the Internet showed up. The first time I saw pineapple on a pizza was in 2007, when I spent six weeks in Germany for an Uni exchange. I found it laughable, because I had absolutely no idea it was so common everywhere in the world except Italy.
But then, you find Italian pizzerias putting everything they want on their pizzas - I can clearly remember one advertising their “Sardinian pork meat and myrtle pizza” on Facebook with people praising it for their fantasy, just because it had Sardinian flavors in it. But tell those same people that you like kebab on a pizza, and they’ll go “this is disrespectful to dirt pizza!”

Good point. A little clarification: what we italians call “würstel” has nothing to do with The Bratwurst as intended in Germany.
The correct word is the one you wrote: wieners (which is uncommon here).
The two have completely different taste and flavor (and ingredients!). And I agree: if there was a real Bratwurst on a pizza, it will be harsh!

As a sausage enthusiast (please, be mature here ) I have to say that Italian wurstels are similar to wieners or to frankfurters, but their taste and consistency is different. We went crazy trying to find Italian wurstels in Zurich, because wieners and frankfurters just don’t… feel right on a pizza. In fact, it was one of the things we imported in great quantities every time we went to Italy on vacation.

I love chicken on pizza! But that’s just because I love chicken in general.
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be chicken.

It’s interesting to see how the German word “Wurst” (plural “Würste”) is -hm- “treaten” by other languages. 
In Germany we have two billion kinds of “Wurst” (which is just the word for sausage). So I’m not surprised that each country/area has its own special meaning for Wurst.

We say würstl, too though.
Yes, but that’s Bavarian slang. (In other regions of Germany we say “Wurscht”, “Wuast”, etc.)
The interesting thing about other languages is, how they use the word, what it means (for example which type of sausage) and how they deal with the umlaut.

Have you guys ever tried a Chilean completo?
You can get them at Chilean bakeries here, and it’s basically a hot dog with everything on it including avocado, sauerkraut, mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc. Ironically the bread is always amazing and fresh, the other ingredients are good, but the actual sausage is like a tiny piece of beep…
Almost the opposite of an American hot dog where the meat is important but the bread is an after thought.

I’ve observed many children eating pizza with wurstel and French fries, but none put or asked for ketchup. There’s a limit to everything.
