You, sir, win the internetz today!
I really don’t dare check my own floppy collection, and haven’t booted up my Amiga for 8 or 9 years. Last time I did, the COM ports were broken (or both of my mice), and some of the keys were dead too. The HDD did spin up though, and the OS came up fine. Even back then I wasn’t adventurous enough to try out a floppy.
As for backups, I did transfer the contents of said HDD (a whopping 120MB) when Linux was still able to read the Amiga file system and have an emulator set up and ready to go ever since. Even extracted the Kickstart ROM myself.
Here's the root folder of the "drive:"

And yes, I did play F1GP this year. TWP really did trigger a bit of nostalgia . And a boxed copy is simply part of that!
Don’t know this one, I’ve played Grand Prix Circuit (and I actually played the motorcycle version around last year once again).
Yes, Grand Prix Circuit. I often played it in the early 90s. It was really fun sometimes. I remember that we divided the “job” into two parts sometimes: One of us was steering while someone else accelerated and braked. A kind of self-made co-op.
Geoff Crammond’s Formula 1 Grand Prix is the one I was referring to. Never heard of the other one
Grand Prix Circuit was very famous. The developers made the “Test Drive” series:
Hehe.
From the Wikipedia article:
A Computer Gaming World review had mixed feelings about the game, noting the controls, which governed steering, acceleration, and shifting all at the same time, took so long to get used to that the reviewer ended up asking a friend to do shifting for him.
Okay, it’s long ago. I remember that we were in a threesome, so shifting might have been the job of the third one of us.
Oh, guys, if you want to open a thread about retro driving games, I’m definitely into it.
Then just create one. (For example make a poll about the best driving game…)
Yeah, seems like we completely derailed that one. Sorry!
*off looking for that new topic*
I created one for you.
A little news for the wise guys who backed the game:
I’m camping already!
Yay! Excited!
Mine arrived! However, I’m not going to be home for the next few weeks so I’ll have to wait a bit more to see it.
I got my shipping notification… I’m at the mailbox, camping out already!
The record for camping-at-the-mailbox-without-moving is currently 5 days. (Then the post man came.)
I think I can top that.
Hi ! I’m a backed the game, and, I still have not received an email regarding my collector! Is this normal? Thank you.
