Yes, although probably too difficult for the 4 year old (in terms of control and puzzles) But working as a team, you’ll have fun! It is also a game without any actual text to read, so very well suited for young children.
I can only speak as an over-20-year-old, but I thought Machinarium was more challenging than Samorost 1 & 2. Or maybe just less enjoyable in some parts of it?
