Remarkable books in the library

With the latest patch, have the book in the Mansion Mansion library been rearranged?
I couldn’t find the " 13: " books in the place they were originally (bottom-center of the library).

In section 1.7, there’s a book called “Grog ;)” written by c5n. c5n is an argentinian news program that made a story about kids drinking “Grog XD”, thinking it was a real thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HeSCBAy4p4. They found out about this and the people that made Tales of Monkey Island even added a Grog XD option in the soda machine.
When I was going through the library and found the book I started laughing my ass off. As an argie, I needed to say thank you for remembering us to Ron and the team. Also ask him where he got the idea to mention La Mole Moli (a famous argentinian boxer). Anyway, thank you guys. Loved the game.

That’s nice!

The “deactivation” part made me think that the writer of the book had some insight that the players hadn’t.

I’m seriously thinking that the devs were inspired by Arto’s book for the man eating plant gag… or was it possible also in maniac mansion and the gag is just a quote? I remember making the plant grow in MM, but I don’t remember the fizzy water

It is a quote. You can grow the plant with the water from the pool and then make the plant burping with the Peps… ehrm… Poopsi (from the fridge).

Here is a second book in the library written in binary representation of 7-bits ASCII chars and, below, the tool to convert its contents.

Title: A Message from the Future
Author: Averius
Bookshelf: 2.1

If you are curious of what’s the text about, I’ve extracted it and you can put it yourself into this binary-to-ASCII online tool to discover its contents.

Here are the contents to be converted:

Hi

Is there a list somewhere of the books that were NOT written by backers (not including the two books which are part of puzzles)?

For now I know of three:
“The True Secret of Monkey Island”
“Plants: Organic & Nuclear”
Jen’s book (I think it’s called “AI Personality Generation”)

Are we sure Jen isn’t a backer?

I have two books and was no backer. Submissions were open for everyone, so I guess there might be lots more non-backer books (and titles in the shop). I also contributed some drinking dialog
Only the phone book was backer only territory.
