Grim Fandango is wonderful! Just don’t expect it to be Monkey Island. It only had a lot of skeletons in common. (One could debate whether GF is actually a better game than SoMI)
I think it’s very likely that, despite the caption, those sketches were not only for The Secret of Monkey Island but also for Time Fly, a game that was set on an island too and that included the pirate era among the ages you can live in via time travel.

That’s the secret. A radioactive meteorite buried in Monkey Island. Guybrush picks it up, and ̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶o̶p̶s̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶t̶w̶o̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶h̶e̶a̶d̶s̶
…and he turns into a banana.

I’m going to pretend I didn’t see this potential spoiler, and try to muster up the will to play Grim Fandango anyway.
I guess @LowLevel meant Glottis. He is huge compared to (the hero) Manny. (And that’s not a spoiler.)
I’m relieved to know i didn’t accidentally guess the secret of Grim Fandango, and that everyone isn’t actually tiny.

Ah, of course!
“You’re not too big! The cars are just too small.”

Everyone is actually dead. But that is the premise, not a secret. There is no secret in GF, only lots of TWISTS and INTRIGE and SUSPENSE
There is no “secret” in Grim Fandango and your Grim Fandango future experience has not been spoiled.
OT: have you guys seen the trailer for Simons The Sorcerer origins? The art and animation is quite impressive… Simon the Sorcerer: Origins - Official Announcement Trailer - YouTube
If the RTMI trailer is going to be like this, my jaw is going to drop…

a new Gobliiins game
Wait Wait… what?!? Where?
Dave Grossman seems to be of no help in solving the mystery: “I’m not sure who should take the heat for the ending - somebody must have mistakenly switched the coffee beans for decaf or something. Suffice it to say that we were all aware that it was pretty bizarre, and we did it anyway.”

with a crowdfounding page only in French.
And the art is not as good as Gobliins 2… it’s very greyish and shiny like metal. I wonder why.

Unless the secret of Grim Fandango is SO secret that we didn’t even realize there is a secret.
We need to repeatedly bug Tim Schafer to tell us what the secret of Grim Fandango is.

I did and the art style is pretty nice, but I didn’t find it particularly special.
At the moment I think that I would like to play an adventure game with an art style like the one in A Vampyre Story or the fourth chapter of the Syberia series.

Everyone is actually dead.
Except for one scene with living characters.

Suffice it to say that we were all aware that it was pretty bizarre, and we did it anyway.
Sooner or later one person among that trio will definitely put an end to this decades-long discussion admitting something like “We were young and we had no idea of what we were doing.”

Yes, I’ve found that choice a bit peculiar. I like the art, though.

He would disclose it in a nanosecond.

Not sure I’d agree that the animation is impressive. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that the animation is pretty poor, particularly in regards to Simon’s walk cycle.

I second this. In addition the graphics are looking like an older animated Disney movie for children. This may work for Simon but not for Monkey Island, IMHO.
It definitely has some issues, IMO, but it seems like it still is a work in progress, so I’ll wait to see more, when it’s polished. I’m carefully optimistic.
