So this has been another weird mixture. It seemed to be a standalone MOW episode first that looked a bit like it was partially inspired by the 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing. But then it turned into a mythology episode again with the smoker appearing and all the usual stuff with William (whose story arc is so big now that it seems to be there to replace the whole main motivation of Mulder searching for his abducted sister in the original series now) alien/human hybrid DNA including an extended scen…
