Ah, that’s the right spirit! (But there is this Redmond Theme…
)
The last game I enjoyed on my Mac from 2010 was Thimbleweed Park. I usually like to play when I’m comfortable. Sitting at my desk isn’t.
So I prefer my handheld options, because I can turn them to standby any time without loss of playtime and without saving. I wish Thimbleweed Park would come out on PSP which is my most favorite machine ever.
Someone said Xfce was kind of ugly and looked like Windows 98. Thing is, I quite like the look of Windows 98.
With a controller I generally either stand around, which I prefer over sitting down all the time, or I sit in a variety of ways.
I played Thimbleweed Park on my laptop for similar reasons. It’s more like lying on the couch with a book.
I’ve finished Chuchel. A really cute and funny game, but too short.
(I don’t know what to play next.)
Doki Doki.
“While it appears at first glance to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a psychological horror game … According to Salvato, the inspiration for the game came from his mixed feelings toward anime, and a fascination for surreal and unsettling experiences.” Wikipedia
I’m not sure if I should play the game…
I’m intrigued by the concept of the game, after having read spoilers about the events and mechanics. But I know I probably wouldn’t be able to handle playing it.
According to a review that game is totally nuts/weird. So maybe we should play it…?
Mayyyyybe. I already know what happens, but I’m still curious to experience it.
But it’ll have to be when I’m feeling right again. Still ups and downs, these days.
According to Wikipedia it has different endings.
Oh, no, you too? Then I’ll keep my fingers crossed that everything will be better soon!
Yeah, I mean the kinds of things that happen.
Thank you!
I just played Limbo and I enjoyed it very much. Even though the story was lacking and the death scenes were disturbing, the puzzles were quite cleaver. I could also see its influence on The Cave, which has some very similar puzzles. What should I play next?
- Broken Age
- Night of the Rabbit
- Night in the Woods
- Curse of Monkey Island
- Machinarium

That’s a tough one, as I guess everything on your list has something going for it. I have not personally played Machinarium or Night in the Woods, but would not have a problem recommending any of the others. Play all of them, in the order of the Alphabet!
If you haven’t played yet, as your poll seems to show us, I would definitely go for The Curse of Monkey Island. A wonderful game, whose only flaw is to be the third installment of the Monkey Island saga, as many forumers - me included- have already said in various threads on the argument. Prepare yourself to meet a totally different Guybrush, and once you got past that, it’s all a way down to the enjoyment of story, humour, drawings, gameplay (despite the not universally loved coin UI), characters and superbe music. A must-play for the fans of the genre.
I’ve also played Machinarium which is a good game, but personally I found it a little bit monotonous in the graphical characterization of settings, especially compared to other titles from the same developer Amanita Design like Samorost.
I´m playing this game right now and I’m really enjoying it. It´s a classical point and click adventure and with a good script and beautiful backgrounds…
Funny you should mention Kathy Rain, I am playing that one now for the first time also. Just started day 3. I’m really enjoying it. Good puzzles, and I think the voice acting (along with the writing, as you mentioned) is excellent. Characters are believable and interesting. Playing on my Chromebook (Android App).
I’m thinking about playing this gem again soon. Just for the music and the graphics, which are amazing, it’s worth it.
I’m thinking about playing The Cave.
Has anyone played it on the Wii U? That’s the only console we have at the moment.
I really feel like giving this one a shot, I thought it was only for Playstation until recently.
It’s so good! give it a chance.
I played it on a mac, can’t imagine being too different on different platforms…
I’m currently playing Dex. I’m quite surprised by the depth of the game.
I picked it up on GOG, currently on sale:
