Itâs better to learn it through this game instead in the real world
But wait, isnât this word used regularly in Ace Attorney games?
Summoning a witness happens often enough, but Iâm not sure if the judge ever specifically asks to subpoena a witness. Perhaps he does, but I feel like the bailiff is typically just asked to get or summon a witness.
Yes, once or twice.
Anyway, I had played BTTF before any Ace Attorney game.
Oh interesting, I didnât know you are a rather recent fan of Mr. Wright.
I played my first Ace Attorney in '08 (or should I say first fourâŚ). Iâm surprised to learn Iâve been into the series a couple years longer than @ZakPhoenixMcKracken but I wouldnât say circa 2010/2011 is ârecentâ exactly.
Itâs because I have known him as Zak Phoenix McKracken my whole life (well, since I know him, that is).
@RonGilbert is playing Forager:
This is embarrassing/annoying. Apparently I had to look slightly down for the use key to work on the exit elevator.
Oh well, I found some extra strong armor and a fancy new weapon among the various stashes I discovered while looking for the non-existent hidden third generator.
Iâm starting to see why some people call normal a bit easy. As long as you keep moving about itâs fairly hard to get hit, especially once you learn to incorporate not just jumping but also ducking into your evasion arsenal. (I donât recall ever using ducking in Duke 3D other than for ventilation shafts but that was in '97ish so gimme a break. ) That being said, the main reason the first major encounter of level 4 was easier than expected was because Iâd picked up that new hidden weapon while roaming for secrets in level 3.
Edit: So earlier after finishing level 4 I realized that while I may have finished 4 levels, that was only âzone 1â. There are 7 zones in total. Since each level is quite large (and some even consist of multiple levels to work around some engine limitations) I mistakenly thought I was about halfway through, but instead itâs 1/7th. Unless the upcoming zones are smaller, that means the game is huge.
Well, I must tell you all a secret.
Before joining the Thimbleweed Park blog, I was known as Zak McKracken. It was enough, to be âuniqueâ among all the others.
But when I entered a blog, where likely would have found many other users with the name of the Lucas characters⌠I added the âPhoenixâ word between the first and last name. This way, I would have been surely âuniqueâ among all of you.
And at the same time, I honoured my second favourite game.
Still (or again) playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Already played about 150 hours since it first came out, but Iâm pretty confident I can finish it within another 50. The biggest factors contributing to that number are replaying bits and pieces due to either crashing or dying, combined with avoiding fast travel and not utilizing the save system near enough. There are also a number of time-consuming activities, like hunting game, which is a test of patience in and of itself, but can become a real Sisyphean task if you return to your client just to find them fast asleep and the collected animal parts spoiled by the next morning.
Anyway, some impressions from my ongoing vacation in Bohemia, 1403 AD:
A hidden glade (with some hidden treasure)
Morning rain
Bohemian countryside
The hunt is on
Sunset over flowers
Sounds very recent to me
That reminds me of the time I was doing so well sneaking up to my mark in Hitman 2 (?) as a waiter or kitchen aid or something when the chef was a total @#$@#$, so I shot him in the face instead. I then ended with a bloodbath instead of a sneaky poisoning.
My ventilation shaft fixation started only with Half-Life.
During my Duke3D time I developed an urge to shoot at lights whenever I see some. Is this still a thing in Ion Fury?
Wait, so those last couple of years you were using a fake name?
Oh wow.
Funny story
But isnât it possible to wake them up?
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of those games I supported but will probably never in my life find the time to play it.
Thereâs certainly a bunch of stuff that can break and blow up or otherwise interacted with. Whatâs new is pushing objects around to reach secrets.
Iâve added, not completely changed, my name!
Oh my god, that first screen with the lit up signs totally reminded me of Kingpin: Life of Crime, a game I loved but completely forgot!
I played a demo of it back in the day. But thatâs Quake 2 engine or something.
Itâs a bit inconsistent. Iâve met some that will happily get up and talk to you in the middle of the night, but most will just stir a bit and shoo you away. The only sure way to get anybody wide awake is attempting to cut their purse. Doesnât make them any more talkative, though .
Youâre missing out. Itâs a diamond in the rough, but itâs still a diamond . Also, Iâm a notoriously slow player, so you can probably halve the time I spent and still comfortably do an exhaustive run.
Itâs not a game to rush through, however. As with most open world games, the main story arc is one of the least interesting bits and the real beauty is found elsewhere.
