Yes, these are actual Amiga applications that run within Workbench.
Hexen, Heretic, DukeNukem, Doom, Wolfenstein - are all ported too.
I did have a DOS emulator back then. Ran at a snail’s pace, but it was good for writing data to FAT-formatted SD floppies. For me that was about the only way to get data off the Amiga and onto a PC (or vice versa).
and boom now you can have full retroarch on it, by just putting files on your USB Stick and by adding roms to it.
Full ScummVM, ports and all sorts of emulators. Runs perfect, just tested.
These guys are active in the discord too, man it’s awesome to sse how fast they make progress and how fast this came now.
By the way, the Workbench I testet is updated too and just awesome.
Now I love the A500Mini even more since I can play all of my beloved Lucas Games on it
EDIT: I could have everything on one single USB Stick, but for now I keep it separated.
One just for the games the Mini plays directly, one with the Workbench and one for the new pandory mod.
And with a little luck AMiNImiga the Workbench and Pandory mod will kind of work togerther in the future. At least support each other. So you can start AMiNIMiga from Pandory and to have some features from Pandory within AMiNIMiga. Like beeing able to start the linux version of ScummVM from Workbench.
That would be awesome. But at first that needs to be figured out and tested.^^
Maybe there is a way.
Just to keep this up to date, Retrogames released their first Firmwareupdate(s) a few days ago.
It brought nativ ADF support and the possibility to choose the Amigamodell for games that where running too fast and some fixes.
But they messed other things up big with it, so they brought a fix after a day. That messed more things up, so they took the update down again. Since a few hours the new update is out that fixes all the messed up things.
Now it would be a very nice update with cool additions.
Would be if it didn’t kill the possibility to use host-run from the underlying Linux.
They did it for security reasons as they say. Makes kind of sense since it was very easy to use and you got full access to linux with it.
But essentialy, with this you can’t use the Pandory mod with retroarch anymore, since they used this method.
And another mod too: PCUAAE
Thankfully I’m very reserved and carefull with firmware updates in general. I always wait a few days to see what problems will be reported.
So I stick to the original firmware for now. I can already do everything the new firmware brings and team Pandory is searching for another entry point for their mod.
So still, right now this little thing is just awesome.
All this Amiga glory from Games, Public Domain games, Demos, Musik + ScummVM as addition and for those who want it, Emulators for everything else too using Pandory. I stil use only ScummVM and sometimes C64 ^^
