Uhmmm… that advice is good, but not perfect. It doesn’t take into account @tasse-tee’s example #2.
I’d say: use “remeber” if in that sentence you could use the italian word “rimembrare”, which is a rare word but it is the exct translation of “remember”. Use “remind” in the other cases.
