In Germany you can buy them in several shops, they are (or were at least) very common here. I don’t know if they are actually working. You can still get them on Amazon.
Thinking about it, I’m not sure if they would help with my situation as they’re mostly about removing odours. I wonder if the chilli heat would still stay.
I have one, but never tried it because I don’t believe in new age voodoo crap.
Probably it works for removing odors (your hands will smell like pocket money though).
But still, that’s not making them clean or bacteria free. Like when you handled raw chicken…
In your case, water will do fine. Or gloves. Just make sure you keep your hands away from your eyes!
Still beats licking the chilli after cutting your finger.
I don’t think it’s a new age thing (I assumed @Someone was joking about that) - I think it’s that metal takes the scent away.
I’d only use it immediately after handling garlic and stuff, to get the smell off. Then wash my hands properly as and when.
It could also double as a door stop in between.
That’s my usual go-to. Plus I get to pretend I’m doing an autopsy *snaaaap*
Or cutting the chilli, licking my finger, cutting my finger then licking my finger.
Or cutting a chili,… ah forget it! I got lost halfway your sentence already!
But you have to try it! For science!
(and us)
Agreed. You must rub your fingers with garlic and onion, then use the metal soap. You must then take a shift as a beauty therapist giving facials, and survey the recipients: did they smell garlic and onion on your hands?
If I can find it back I will!
Although I actually enjoy smelling my fingers after cutting garlic.
take a shift as a beauty therapist giving facials
But it takes years of study and education to be a licensed beauty therapist!
Can’t I just give free face massages at the TWP meet-up?
cutting my finger then licking my finger
Didn´t you say once you kinda liked the taste?

I can´t give you a face massage Sushi, but maybe Batman can?
I keep meaning to try that. I think Jamie Oliver serves them with dark chocolate and grappa which sounds quite a nice combo!
They’re amazing, they’re kinda like a Slush Puppie if you’ve ever had one of those…
I sometimes think I prefer them to chocolate, but then other times I think that’s not true at all, surely.

Not in a while, but I loved them

Okay now I really have to try them… Only thing is I don’t really like biting into things that are frozen. But I guess you can just let them melt in the mouth?

You could, though I personally find it’s best to let them sit for a couple of minutes once you take them out the freezer, so they’re not totally hard, then they’re relatively easy to bite into two halves and eat the two halves separately. That way you get the full benefit of the slushiness.
Usually by the time they’re out of the freezer, in the bowl and you’ve sat down, that’s usually long enough for them to become the right consistency.
ze beautiful frozen grapes
Ze frozen grapes, you say?
Noted! You’ve obviously refined this process I shall try it at some point and let you know my thoughts.

That’s an interesting story. And it looks like a quite simple recipe… I wanna try them too!
I’m going grape shopping tonight.
