Your song-of-the-day, based on your current mood

What a good piece of music!

:grimacing: (there is no bonesaw emoji)

oh, but we can always make our own…

Here it is in action…

Btw, the Chocolate Line has a Grim Fandango exhibition.

We bought the yellow one. The calaveras (sugar skulls) are made by actual Mexicans.

Does that mean that you can eat them?

No, that’s just what they’re called. /shrug

I’m turning 45 today.
So, “Brimful of Asha on the 45” is my song-of-the-day.

Loved that song! Thanks!

Back when it came out, my English wasn’t sufficiently advanced to understand the puerile “Take off your pants and jacket” album title. I thought it was just some silliness. It only clicked recently when I came across a bunch of old blink-182 stuff.

Watched Mandy with Nicholas Cage and Andrea Riseborough last night. While I could talk all day about this crazy acid trip of a film the thing that stuck most with me was that they used Starless by King Crimson as its opening credits song and they even gave it its own credit!

The C64 mini has revived even into this song, published by an italian rapper 15 years ago.
Today I wanted to relisten to it, as it’s a great tribute to this incredible machine.
Here it is (with an english lyrics translation)

English lyrics

Year of publication:1982
Memory: 64 Kb
ROM: 20 Kb
Microprocessor: 6510 A
Colors: 16
Resolution: 320x200
Keyboard: type writer
Sound: nine octaves

It did not have super processors
It only had 16 colors
The parents did not understand it
The teachers did not recommend it

You plugged it on the TV and it was hours and hours
To load games from the tape recorder
The graphics lacked definition
But the imagination replaced it
Your adolescence with just one joystick
But no scooter will go faster than the BMX

The Commodore 64 breaks the ass to the PC
The Commodore 64 is more than Xp or Osx
With the Commodore 64 now the gods are playing
And the Commodore 64 has f***ed the Play, too
Even the Play, it too (it too)

It seemed to be unable to do anything
With 39 kbytes per user
Instead they made millions of them
Shooters, adventures and simulations
A single sound chip
But you could also play it
And just before he died
He also started to speak

The Commodore 64 breaks the ass to the PC
The Commodore 64 is more than Xp or Osx
With the Commodore 64 now the gods are playing
And the Commodore 64 has f***ed the Play, too
The Commodore 64 breaks the ass to the PC (also the Play)
The Commodore 64 is more than Xp or Osx (also the Play)
The Commodore 64 (also the Play)
The Commodore 64 (also the Play)
