I don´t know if you clicked my super tiny link there. But that is the problem. There isn´t. There is no wikipedia entry. No imdb entry. And it was even a joint production of german and french TV and neither version have much of anything on the internet. It is actually kind of astonishing. But I´m collection information on it at the moment, since that show really impressed me as a kid and it´s a bummer that even in this information age it remains mega obscure.
Ah! That is a link.
But unfortunately I can’t remember “Fürchterliche Freunde”. ![]()
How about Time Masters?

This reminds me of a cartoon that I liked when I was a child.
There was a small stuffed bear, which could stop time. A boy and a girl (Paul and Nina) could then cross a golden gate, and visit unpredictable worlds, but only for a limited amount of time, otherwise they would have been trapped forever in the other world.
This was the opening, it starts with time being stopped and the golden gate appearing:
since you are the anime expert I´d like to ask you about a chilhood trauma of mine, since I watched something in a show I found truly scary as a kid but I absolutly can´t remember what show it was.
Sounds familiar, but I really don’t remember at the moment.
As soon I’ve the (spare) time, I’ll dig into this…
Me too. As I´ve said I´m in the middle of collecting material and you wouldn´t believe how difficult that is.
Was it a show with real people, or a cartoon?
I said anime, didn´t I?
So, there were a couple of anime shows in the kids programmes in the late 80s early 90s. One of them was Anne Of The Southern Rainbow set in 19th century Australia(I think one of those episodes introduced me to the concept of toothache and in general it gave me an outdated idea of what school would be like).
I cannot say it was that show however, I´m pretty sure it involved a blonde (girl in red/white clothes?) and also took place in more of a perdiod setting, and the scene I am talking about was a nightmare scene.
It involved the protagonist girl chasing another blonde girl screaming for her name. Suddenly that other girl turns around and
SHE HAS NO FACIAL FEATURES AT ALL!!!
No eye, no nose, no mouth. Nothing! I pooped my pants! It was really frightning and kind of gross in a way.
I have no idea what that was about. Only recenly I learned about Noppera-bō, so the lack of a face thing plays an important part in japanese folklore. However in that context it seemed to be more of a psychological symbolic thing, with it being in a nightmare and all.
This is almost 30 years ago and it´s driving me nuts I cannot find out what it is. It was real scary and I´d love to see a clip of it somewhere (and learn about more about the context).
aka Lucy May, hmmm I don’t think either. I don’t remember any nightmare scenes as described in your latest post.
The only blond girl actually without a mouth (but with nose and eyes) that came into my mind is Meeme from Capitan Harlock.
BTW, in the nightmare you described, the girl chasing the other one is a “normal” girl, only the chased one has no mouth, nose or eyes.
I’ll investigate.
Yes it was usually normal, but in that nightmare scene the girl had no face at all. And it was a down to earth 19th century setting and no sci fi or anything like that.
Never heard of that, but the vamphant seems vaguely familiar. ![]()

Perhaps your perception of the smiley is off due to Simpsons overdosing.
No, but you certainly seem to overdose a bit on that smiley, don´t ya think?
Hah! How did you do that? I can only do that with Zak (by putting on the fishbowl before beaming to Mars and then getting up).
Maybe he opened both doors with the other girl …
Almost. I closed the door with the other girl while she was walking through the door.
I’ll show you mine if you show me yours… video I mean!
