(French) Fries vs Chips

The official language thread

Americans call them (French) fries. While in actuality, they’re (Belgian) fries. That’s because historically, Americans usually suck at European geography… same reason they call it “french kissing” Unless you’re referring to the very thin allumettes style of fries/chips they serve at McDonalds and alike. Those are French (and not really “fries”/“chips”/“frieten”) I’m not making any of this up… well not most of it anyway

I also thought before of:
Belgium vs England 2: Moules Frites vs Fish’n’ Chips - nah… too long and everyone will want to eat some instead of watching the game.
